The design and lines are almost identical to Pearson's 60" Golden Sovereign Knight, which was circa 1964-1966. Pearson dropped the Golden sovereign name and insignia and went over completely to the PEARSON logo/line by 1969. This was clearly one of their flagships of the day in the hunting line. The Knight had sweeping recurve limbs with tips well in front of the riser unbraced. It was fast, smooth and quite a good shooter and still is.
I'm not surprised at all that you've like the feel and handling of that bow. Pearson bows are, at least for now, probably the best bargain of the used bow market with many of the old Pearsons selling for less than $100.00 for a very good shooter.

Yeah...it's very comfortable in the hand...light too! I'm waiting for the snow to leave, so I can put it thru the paces!
BTW...doesthe XX in front of the 50# mean that it actually may pull abit heavier at 28"? Well I got this baby for a fair bit less than $100.00
It was a real bargain for such a nice bow...it ain't a fancy custom job, but I'm sure it'll drop a deer just as fast! AND at least I won't be afraid to take it in the woods.

I think if the XX prefaces the poundage (xx50#) that means it is several pounds LESS than 50, and conversely if the XX is a suffix (50#xx) it means several pounds MORE than 50.
I have owned a Predator identical to yours. Mine was marked 50#, but actually scaled 53# @ 28. It was surprisingly fast... shooting 510 gr. POC from elevated rest @ 28" draw, I was getting 175-180 fps. Also, it sure didn't take much to quiet this bow down. Even though it feels lightweight, it actually has more mass in riser than many recurves of that era. Great shooting bow. :D

I hope you are right...nice to know that someone out there has/had one of these bows. When I saw it, there was just something about the design that spoke to me...It's actually much nicer in reality than the pics show. the riser has a weird 3 dimensional look to the grain. looks like you could fall right into it! Much richer reddish color rosewood (I think) maybe bubinga...
Did you hunt with yours??? How did it shoot for you?

No, EH... I didn't have it all that long, I threw it in with some cash on a deal for a different bow. It shot well and was quieter than a $600 bow that I had at the time.
