My Bowyer came and stayed with me this weekend to shoot our clubs first competition and showed me his latest creation, a double carbon Blackbrook 'Zeta' it's the same weight as my normal carbon backed 'Zeta' but felt 5# lighter to draw up and had far less hand shock, in fact it had zero hand shock.

I know Adcock makes a double carbon Longbow, does anybody else make them and has anybody had any experiance of shooting double carbon Longbows, I would be interested to hear your views.

I was really happy with my old bow, now I've shot this new one I think I'm going to have dig deep in my wallet.

The only ACS I,ve shot was a double carbon.I really don,t have much to compare it to,it seemed to be in a class by itself. I could shoot it with my index finger lightly touching my thumb and the other fingers open.Basically no grip at all,and it still shot with nexta nothing for hand shock. It did jump a little but considering the gap between the front of the bow and my fingers I was impressed. There,s other high quality bows out there as well it sounds like you,ve found one.Good luck

Well, I do not know if I am ahead of time or my thinking is retarded by some 345 - 250 million ages.

Do I get you right, double carbon limbs refers to a carbon layer on the back and belly of the limbs.

I have only 2 recurves and both double carbon. Compared with another recurve I have tried, they are really soft and 'quiet as a church mouse'. They shoot very forgiving and torsional stiffness is emazing. Maybe I have not shot enough of other different bows until now, so this is just my opinion.

You must have noticed: whenever I post something, there is somewhere the word carbon to be found...

O.L.' s bow uses carbon in place of the glass. There is no glass in his limbs. Black Swan does the same, no glass. Both bows are noted for exceptional performance and oddly enough exceptional shooting qualities i.e, extremely stable, quiet, feast, etc.... It sounds like your bow has those same attributes. There must be something to this carbon in place of glass. BTW I shoot both of the above mentioned longbows.

The 'Zeta' is the same, the Carbon replaces the Glass.

OOps, me bad. Swampy is correct. Only O.L.'s CX model uses all carbon. The standard ACS has a thin layer of glass over the carbon lams. That ZETA is a nice looking bow. MY Black Swan also uses carbon in place of the glass and has the same qualities as your and O.L.'s bow. I've also chatted with O.L. and know he is working on an ACS recurve with a new carbon based material that is more pliable than standard carbon so that it can be formed in the ACS configuration more easily. I've also shot Steve Quinten's IBEX with carbon lams instead of glass and guess what? It shoots with the same nice properties as the longbows we've been talking about. Of course FITA shooters knew this all along we just were'n't paying attention....LOL
