My set-up is a shrew LB 54" 51# @26" (My Draw) easton XX75 2018's 26.5" w/145gr BH Total weight 528gr

What would be the biggest big game animal I could take with it? I know about shot placement. I'm hitting 8 out of 12 @ 17yds for now. Here in Jersey the biggest game is the White Tail (with Bow). I'm putting in for Moose & Elk tags. :shooting:

No experiance with anything tougher than hogs but I would hunt dinosaurs with my 50lb bows without a second thought.I would use carbon arrows however. :)

I'm suprised that you're getting good arrow flight from your current set-up?

I can shoot 30" 2018s with 145gr points from my 58" #55 @ 29" Super Shrew Chameleon, but if I drop down in point weight the 2018s are too stiff.

I would agree with James, #51 is good for anything short of Africa's Biggest 3.

I have them fletched with 4 white feathers. I did a paper test and they hit just a little upperleft of center anywhere from 1/16" to 1/2". Everything I have read, said that is perfect or very close to it. I am a right handed shooter with glove split fingers

Mystic, I know the paper test is good. But for peace of mind, I'd strip the feathers off one of those dudes and shoot a bare shaft with a comparable weighted field point at about 15 yds for starters. That will either confirm you are on the right track, or let you know the paper test was misleading for one reason or another. If the bow is well tuned, you should be able to shoot bare shafts at 20 yds pretty easily, and out much further than that with a little work.

I think (trusting my memory, which is dangerous) a 2018 spines between 65# and 70# on 26". So if your arrows are around 27", it seems like the arrow would be overspined. But you do have a fairly heavy head on that thing, so who knows.
