Anyone here have a form for Bingham Long bow limbs?
I'm trying to build a 3-piece Long Bow
I dont have the space at home to lay up my own limbs.

I'd like to make a deal with someone to build me a set of blanks.

PM or email:

Thank you,

I've been designing a new longbow limb and have the form built. Built an all wood test limb that indicated the design should work. The design program I used predicts a great forcedraw curve but I haven't been able to test it with a glass layup yet to know for sure. Will be starting a glass/actionboo set of limbs soon. I'd be willing to build you some blanks but I've not finished a set to know if they will work for for sure. If you'd order the materials from Bingham's I could build you a set but it might not be till January after I get the first set built and know that they work OK. Not sure you'd want to wait that long though.

Hey BenBow!
That sounds good.
Any chance you could email me or post some pictures of your limb design.
(if its not a trade secret that is)

Here's a pic of the profile unbraced, braced, and fulldraw.

Here's the predicted forcedraw curve.

This is all predicted by computer so I want to build one and test it before building one for you. So it could take a while depending on how everything goes. By the way this is based on a 16" riser and a 62" bow. If you want something different then that let me know so I can adjust the measurements.

Benbow...what program do you use to design limbs and check data like that? That limb profile looks good....Lots of reflex.

Hornseeker it's called SuperTiller and it's a free excel spreadsheet made up by Alan Case. It's designed for all wood bows but it gives your a good idea of what different designs should do. It will with a bit of work print out a full size template for your form which is really cool. Here's a link to the page, scroll down a ways and you'll see it attached to one of Avcase's posts.
