Well I know not a true selfbow but, thought I would post anyway. This is a Bamboo Backed Hickory blank with static recurved tips. Shoots amazingly fast - 68 inches long and draws a full 60 lbs. @ 28". At my draw length she pulls 57 1/4 lbs.

Nice! I admire anyone who can pull off making a functional bow. I have no talent for that sort of thing!

That is a nice looking bow. How does it look at full draw?

Will try to get pics of her at full draw. She does shoot very fast though.

That is beautiful. How is it finished and what are the limb dimensions? It looks like the handshock would be low with those narrow tips. How close to center is th riser cut? Sorry for all the questions.

She is finished with Helmsman Sparthane only. - 10 coats to be exact. The limbs are 1 1/4" wide. There is no handshock at all when shot. She is 1/4" off being a full center shot. Seems that I can shoot a fairly wide variety of spine shafts and not worry about where they are going to hit. Am going to try to get out and do some deer hunting with it and see if I can harvest an animal.

its ok, you can be excited :)
you have to excuse us all Ol Man. When one of us on this board makes a bow, we all want to know everything we can. Sometimes a little knowledge is dangerous....Well at least for me

I'm no different - believe me. Gonna start working on a couple more in the next few weeks. Getting bored with making arrows and such.

Ol man...Even though some of "US" on here are confirmed Speed-Freaks, and shoot the metal in the middle stuff, I for one am a Fella that likes all kinds of bows, and if it is a good design, and well crafted, I have a soft spot in my heart for a good wooden bow...I've made a couple Osage bows for kids, a board bow out of oak, and maple, a goofy looking, but oddly good shooting "Quickie" bow out of bamboo, and one ash Native American design flatbow...Git them pics up, now, Ya hear?..Take care!.Harpman P.S...Some of the fastest wooden bow that I ever seen were well designed, well made/tillered Hickory flatbows..These fella's used to come to one of the local 3-D shoots, one of the three made the bows, and they were impressive..Keep the wood shavings comin'...Harp

Will get some more pics on as soon as I can - trying to get myself together for a hog hunt ...Have some more wood coming in soon - gonna try my hand at an ELB and also doing something totally different from the norm. Going to use boo w/nodes on the back, lamboo then walnut strip then boo w/nodes on the belly. Gonna do a 6" Perry reflex and see what I can come up with. will; keep ya'll posted.
