Saw a thread else where taking about old camo patterns and figured I would start a more broadbased one here.

I hunt in Mishigan mostly in a hardwood and pine mix. I always used the latest and greatest new fangled pattern until recently. I discovered the greatness of wool but darned the stuff I bought only came in some old woodland type patterns I just new I'd get spotted in. Well...didn't happen. Truefully can't say I've been spotted in it yet. I've kind of come full circle since and am sold on wool and open patterns. I recently bought some predator and am keeping a look out for some ASAT.

So what's your favorite camo patterns old and new for what terrain and why?

Wool plaid. Face net. Hunt the wind and blend in. Keep very still. My camo is 15 years old. The next thing I buy will be wool plaid.

mine would have to be mossy oaks shadow grass. i hunt a lot on the ground in between a corn fields and a drianage ditchs, with a few tree stands over looking corn fields, my highest treestand is about 12' and i have no problem with deer spotting me.

i got some camo last summer as a gag gift, it's called snake skin camo. man nothing scarier then a 6'0" tall 275# biker looking snake! wore it out of the house the first time and all the neighbors kids ran home crying. used it hunting a few times .... funny never saw a thing.....go figure. :)

i 'm with you on the wool ,i use it as an under layer, just can't seem to find the stuff big enough to use as an outer layer with out taking out a 2nd mortgage.

Woodland camo BDU's for me, it works for nearly every occasion. Never been much on the lastest yuppie fad camo.

I like the big patterns with lots of camo. I've been using Predator for several years, and really like it. Sticks n limbs looks good; so does Asat.

I think a big plaid with contrast would probably do well. But I really like my predator.

I've been using ASAT for many years, and also have a set of Bob Fratzke's knit Wonona Camo. Very nice for not-so-cold weather in the woodlands and also use it as an underlayer... great wind-breaking properties underneath top layer. Got a new set of ASAT bibs from Day One last year, really like 'em... lots of pockets!

ASAT 3D leaf suit. Only stuff Ive ever seen that DOES camoflage a moving object. Looks like pooh on the rack, but in the field, you can not see it.
