I have two gamemaster bows at 45# draw and one weights 1/4 pound more in physical weight than the other. Can anyone explain that? I havn't checked to see if the weight is in the limbs or the riser.
My guess would be the riser is the culprit. Castings have less uniformity that machined parts and sometimes they come out with voids. A common practice is to fill those voids with bondo and no one is the wiser. Unless of course some wise guy comes along with a scale!! :mistake:
Seriously though, if your riser is missing 4 ozs of material somewhere, Hoyt should explain that. Do you notice any difference in performance or vibration between them?

Nice to see another new poster over here Twin Rivers... :)
That is quite a bit, ya think if different material was used for limb bolts it would account for 4 ounces?
Jerry, I see your interests are listed as archery, golf... I did a quick-take on that, thought it said arhery golf. LOL... Ever done that? Sure would make for an interesting foray on the back nine. :D

What weights are you getting? My Gamemaster weighs 45oz with a stick on flipper rest and plunger installed. I assume they setup identical?

you might also want to make sure you are weighing them accurately on a known accurate, or better yet a certified scale. most household or spring scales can vary quite a bit and I'd eliminate that as a possible source of variation as a first step. Weighing the separate parts at the local post office on their lobby scale should be fairly accurate.

Well I took the bows apart and checked the risers and limbs. The heavy riser-38oz- limbs 12 1/2 oz. The light riser 36 oz. limbs 12 oz. So there is only 2 1/2 oz. total difference. I was able to tell the difference though, thats why I put them on the scale. They both shoot great and seem to shoot the same. I havn't tryed archery golf, but would like to.
