Just got back from Melville Island in OZ. Had a great hunt with Dale Karch of 3Rivers Archery. We both shot 2 bulls on video. Very remote area with a ton of game. Our guide was Billy Baker, I can see why he is called the "Fred Bear" of Austrailia. The pic is of Bill and I with one of the bulls I shot.
The prototype Zwicky "Little Delta" broadheads worked flawlessly. I shot the first bull once in the golden triangle. Head went through hide, leg meat, horizontally sheared a rib, lower lung lobes, heart and burried in bone on the far side. Bull traveled 25 yards.
I shot the 2'nd bull 3 times, but the first shot would have been enough. All 3 shots double lung and buried in far ribs. All the broadhead's tips were perfect. Bull #2 traveled 8 yards.
Thats awsome Denny. I can't wait to see it on video. I am glad that this years trip was better than last years. I see you made up for it with two bulls. Congradulations!!!
Beautiful Denny! Redemption is yours! Both beasts went down fast didn't they? The terrain there looks like it would be really interesting to hunt.

Awesome Denny!
Good tuned equipment as well!
Would love to see the video :)
Congrats Denny. That's some good shooting. You ought to get up with Dan Bertalan and make a video or something. ROTF Glad to hear the broadheads worked well. Congrats again. Tom :highfive:

Yes, Denny, more on those proto Zwickey heads, please!
Too cool Denny. Was your heart rate up? That thing looks like a tank with horns. Can't wait to hear the whole story.

The prototypes are just Deltas ground to the width of an Eskimo. Dale told me today Jack is going to make new dies and straighten the bottom of the head. This will make the blade a bit longer and should penetrate even better.

Thanks for the info, Denny. Been waiting awhile for a head like that and, in the meantime, grinding on stock 2-blades that just aren't quite what I'm looking for. BTW, very good buff!

Thanks guys. It was a fun hunt. We would have had a great time even if we didn't get a buffalo.
Lambow, The meat has a good flavor, but it is tough. We ate the tender loins out of the younger bull I shot. We packed most of the meat out and gave it to the Tiwi people on the island.

Congrats Denny! That buffalo's just a little larger than our Michigan whitetails, huh? I have a set of carbons set up with the same yellow wrap and orange/yellow fletching. Pretty easy to see where they hit.
By the way, I just saw an old copy of "How to Shoot Instinctively Better Than Ever" and there is this scranny looking guy on the tape that is using your name. You might want to check into that. :) LOL

Can't wait 'til that head's in full production. Will they be made available through Three Rivers or some other cyber distributor, Denny? Jeez, Denny, only 27" - that takes you down to a wimpy 88#; surprised that sucker didn't just bounce off! LOL, LOL

Denny congrats on the hunt and testing the new head. Excellent photo of the beast. I called Zwicky back in March when you first teased all of us with a photo of the new broadhead. They didn't think production would be ready for this season so I'm sticking with the Magnus for now. But next year I'll be very interested in shooting some of these. If I recall right they were slated to be sold through three rivers.
