As many of you know who are looking for ILF Olympic limbs they are getting pretty hard to come by lately. Martin a couple years ago came out with a top of the line Olympic bow called the Aurora, metal riser of course BUT they also have a line of Olympic ILF limbs in the usual three lengths and up to fifty lbs on the 24" Aurora riser. Maybe a call to Martin might be a untapped source for these excellent limbs, they are carbon/maple/glass. Maybe Martin would be willing to make some in heavier weights and film camo dip them too. I will be seeing Larry Hatfield next weekend I hope and I will get his thoughts on this. As you all know Martin makes good stuff in the recurve line so I think the Aurora limbs would be up the typical Martin standard....warf

Bob,
As you know I'm in the same boat. I'd like a good local source for quality limbs especially if they will make them in heavier weights.

I have a set of Hoyt medium 46# GM carbons that will be for sale as soon as I receive them. Supposed to be in excellent condition.

Anyone interested???

bob, i'll see what i can dig up to bring!
one thing i want to show you is an old bow by chessman after he left bear. it's a takedown and has three pair of longbow limbs and three pair of recurve limbs.
have'nt strung a pair of recurves yet, but the longbow limbs are interesting. he basically did a "modern" r/d limb thats on the edge of being maxed out. and he did it in the fifties.
we just keep reinventing the same wheel.
his riser is pretty unique! all metal tubing, formed, with wood screwed on the grip area and the face of the sight window.
are you going to be there friday late afternnon?

Larry...No cell phone, I live so far in the woods they don't work up here, sorta like living on another planet. I will be in a little white trailer with Scamp on the side, will see you when you get there. Wish you could stay longer, that hay will keep growing without you...Bob

Larry,
I heard, and you would probably know better, that Bear released about 200 pairs of longbow limbs that fit their T/D recurve riser. I guess they had problems with the limb fit and kept breaking out the limb socket on the riser so they recalled the limbs. This was sometime in the 70's.

I personally know that limb fit on that Magnesium riser is VERY important as I had one of the risers blow up on me as the result of poor limb fit with a custom set of limbs.

Apparently this only affected the Magnesium handle T/D, at least that was my experience.

lane, the limbs i was telling bob about are not bear limbs. i seem to remember a problem they had with mag risers but don't recall the particulars. sorry.
