I have an PSE Jackal, a great bow except the area of the riser around the berger button hole has too much curve, really limits the type of rest I can use as a stick-on won't fit the curve makes the flipper/arm be at an angle greater than 90. Anyone know can/how to grind/file? one of these risers. Right now I am using a Cavalier rest which bolts to the berger button but sure would like to be able to use a stick-on type with the berger button.

Have the same issue on the Gamemaster. Have you tied the ARE rest? I believe the cavalier T-300 might work as well. These dont have as much body below the plunger hole. The ARE works well when clearace is tight.

I have a Best Zenit riser (Italy) with the same problem. The first three stick on rests I tried all ran into the radius between sight window and shelf. Cavalier's T-300 solved the problem. Don't know about the ARE but Cavalier is made a couple miles from where I live so I did the loyal thing and bought USA.
I'd recommend finding a rest that works before grinding on the riser. YMMV!

I use a Cavalier T300 Hunter rest on my Jackal, works as fine as frog hair parted four ways.

I ground on the rest, and enlarged the plunger hole to make a Win&Win magnetic stick on flipper work on my Gamemaster.

Believe a Bear Weather Rest will conform to the riser. Most of the Hoyt GameMasters, I worked with, I've convinced the users to get NAP Centershot rests. They screw into the cushion plunger hole, and come in solid and flipper types ,and the heads are replaceable. Hve them on sevgeral bows, and carry one as a spare, just in case.

I have got to agree with you there Viper. My wife swears by her Centreshot rests. They are really robust, you can tune your centreshot with them and if you bust it out in the field its really simple to replace and theres no need to re-tune as it fits in exctly the same place. Another simple rest is the good old springy. I know that a lot of world class compound shooters use them. Does anyone out there use them for trad shooting?

I've got one from the 60's or 70's when they first came out, three springs and all. Used it for a while on an old Hoyt PM T/D, and could not warm up to it. Tried it again, several times, lastly last year. How's that for durable! Absolutely nothing wrong with it, just does't feel compfy. Probably me, :( ...

Viper a Bear Weatherest won't work as the slope below the berger button hole has alot of curve to it and it makes the arm stick at at angle "leaning" toward the berger button hole" Sure would like to know what rest the Jackals came with.

Bob,
I don't think they came with a rest. I've checked the PSE 02 Archives, it doesn't give a lot of info.
I haven't had a problem with the three different rests I've tried on my Jackal, I can't help but wonder what the second hole is for, two plungers...??? :sbrug:

Trying to picture the GM riser and the Bear rest. That part of the riser is pretty narrow. The Centershot rests go from $7.00 for the solid one to $17.00 for the flipper. Don't know if where you can find a springy rest, these days. It's really a cood idea, not sure why I couldn't warm up to it ???
Some of you machinist type fellers, can just take a 5/16" x 24 bolt and tape a threaded something in there and make something creative!
Heathan - The second hole was probably for a bolt on rest used in addition to the plunger, just a guess.

Springy rests are still available over here in England. If anyone wants to try one i will try to find out who makes them and if they are sold Stateside.

I have an old Golden Key Futura springy rest I would be more than happy to part with. FREE...!!!
Never did like them, I'm a flipper rest type guy.

Viper,
I'm with you on the NAP Centerest. Cueball also has one on his Gamemaster and is pleased with it also.
