i've done a search on warfs found out what they are. so heres my question , i have a pse riser i think it was a small frame compound, but i bought it as a recurve. added wood to the riser so it could be shot off the shelf and it worked fine but it does'nt perform well. so i made a wood riser for it and it shot the same not very well. so i was wondering where i could get limbs that would perform better? i see from past threads that alot of guys are using limbs from target bows. now i have no experience with target archery at all , so i was wondering what type of limb to look for?
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks dan

Dan,
I'm not too knowledgeable as to why the PSE doesn't have the performance, but I believe a lot of it has to do with the limb butt angle/geometry of the limbs. I think Bob, DAS, and some of the others will be able to answer this question as well as the ins and outs of getting the ILF limbs to fit properly.
As for the limbs to look for... that would be most any of the FITA limbs that are available. Of course the carbon limbs (wood core w/carbon facing or foam core w/carbon facing) have been touted to be faster than the wood core with fiberglass facing.
Here is a link to W&W limbs...

Many of the W&W limbs are manufactured for PSE and other companies. Some of the older styles that are still good ones would be just about any Hoyt FITA limb. They can also be found on eBay, just do a search for FITA limbs or recurve limbs.
The limbs are usually marked something like this...
23H-64-44 (64" bow on a 23" riser, 44# @ 28")
For comparison purposes, my warfer is a 21" riser and with 23H-64-44 limbs makes a 62" bow and the poundage is adjustable between 45-50# @ 28" using the ILF (international limb fitting) mounting system.
25H-70-42 lbs
23H-68-44 lbs
(Long limbs)
25H-68-42 lbs
23H-66-44 lbs
(Medium limbs)
25H-66-42 lb
23H-64-44 lbs
(Short limbs)

So far the only PSE compound riser I've found that has the right geometry is copied from the Hoyt Spectra/raider/rambo/etc, etc. I have one made from a shorter PSE riser, but to get it up to snuff I have done major machining modifications to correct the geometry.
The Second aspect is overall length of the riser. ANything over 18 inches bolt to bolt you might as well just get a 23 inch fita riser which is already ready to go.
As far as the limbs you have if the are the PSE limbs which came as PSE kudu, blackhawk, impala they are decent limbs in quality, but not speed demons.
In my humble opinion look for maple carbon laminated limbs. You can spend as much as you want on limbs, but it seems to me that these two criteria cover most bases in the quality and speed department.
Feel free to PM me with the particulars of your riser and limbs, and Id be happy to give you a little more specific information.
