I bought this bow back in the fall and have been very pleased with it. I got it because it was a 50 pound bow at 28 inches which was comfortable for me. It seemed heavy when I got it. I finally got around to checking the weight and it actually pulls a 55 lbs. I have gotten to the point where I can shoot this weight comfortably, but would like to get some replacement limbs for the bow with a little lower weight for those times when I would like to shoot more arrows.
I heard and checked that the AIM / Samick Woodsman is the same design with a wooden riser and that the limbs would fit my metal riser. I called the importer and he said he'd prefer that I contact my local dealer first. I have done that, but the dealer has not responded to my phone messages.
Before I call the importer back, has anyone got any tips of getting some replacement limbs? I am looking for something between 45 and (up to) 50 lbs.
Thanks,

You can make a couple pieces of aluminum 1/8" thick, the width of the rear of the limb pocket and about 3/8" wide and put them under the limb butts at the very rear just behind the limb bolt. These shims will reduce the weight about three lbs. It's a real simple way to drop the pounds a little bit. Check your tiller when done to make it stays the same. If it's off a little use some same size pieces of a pop can aluminum to get it perfect. Use a drop of cement, any kind to hold them in the riser if you take the limbs off very often. Works well and will not hurt anything.....warf

The Samick Woodsman and the Sky Hunter have a totaly different limb attachment system........The Woodsman is styled after the Sky Hawk, but according to Mrs Ann Hoyt the limb wont interchange.....I haven't tried, myself

Rod,
Thanks for the information. The importer must have misunderstood which Sky bow I was asking about.
It has been interesting owning a Sky bow. There is very little information around regarding the bows. This one shoots so sweet, I would have thought there would be a larger following. :sbrug:
Thanks,

If ebay prices are any indication they do have a loyal following. Seems to me that they are seldom selling low.

Just checking in. I went down to the local hardware store and got some 1/8" stock and cut it to fit. Worked great. It seems that it reduced it about 2 to 4 pounds. Its amazing how much that small difference makes.
Thanks Bob ..... that was good advice.
