An Issue of Spine??

For the last couple weeks, I've been shooting my new Stallion (52#@30") with mixed results. Here's the problem. I'm shooting some Gold Tip 55/75s out of it with 125gr target points. They seemed to bare shaft ok, but my groups are less than impressive. Vertical is fine, but horizontal is pretty mediocre (looks like a machine gun sprayed the target straight across). Just for fun today I pulled out some old 2413s and gave them a try. The groups shrunk dramatically. I've heard rumblings that the Gold Tips are often inconsistent in their spine. I don't own a spine testor, so I can't say whether this is the issue or not. But the difference was very noticable when I switched to the aluminums. Any ideas what I'm dealing with here??
