hey i'm chance i'm 16 .this is my first post on tradtalk. i was wondering if anybody hunts with stone points , i make my own and was wondering if anybody who makes them also hunts with them , if you do what do you hunt with them.

probably not here chance. most of these guys are into modern trad technology. :)

i have a guy knapping me 3 points right now, i told him to get as close to 125 grains as he could........we will see if i can kill a whitetail or 2 this fall with them :cheers:

I make my own obsidian and flint points and hunt with them. I use cane and hickory shafts with both. I find that the stone points are every bit as lethal as steel points. I've killed half a dozen hogs and four deer with them. good hunting. troy

Chance, first Welcome to Tradtalk!
I have an exbrother inlaw who is somewhat of a renown knapper(Tim Baker Jr) and I took two Does with heads he knapped for me...Dtala is right with good shot placement....everybit as effective as any 2 blade steel head.
Bet you guys didnt know I had a primative side ?:p
