Boho, I've said many times that anyone can tag a deer by honing their shooting skills and then putting one right through the heart-lungs on the first shot. It takes a real hunter to get close enough to hit a deer with horriible shooting skills and then track that gut-shot animal for 12 hours through a swamp.

Somehow, I don't think gutshot got his handle because it's where his arrows usually end up, though. ;)

Thanks to ya all. I won't get into the details of how my handle came about, but I'll tell you that it had to do with some flatulence on my part! :)

Fortunately, I only get a whiff of the smell your handle implies when around my fellow bowhunters at the farm when we get together to do some work afield (this morning in fact)... and thankfully it's been a very long time since any of us have encountered it at the end of a poor-placed shot.

How coincidental... I just finished reading a very long and misunderstood thread elsewhere. I didn't respond, but agree that there are some that would do well to re-evaluate their shooting skills in preparation for hunting... 'nuff said (for now).

Ditto what everyone else said. This is the place for learning how to shoot instinctively better. It's also the place for learning about some of the most efficient bows. I don't know what your druthers are, but check out the archives and brace yourself. Until recently, stuff posted here was found nowhere else.
