YEH I was just a little too early for one, I got a COLT just a little before these came out. They look great.
Nothing wrong with a Colt, though, not complaining, here.
I have two Colts and a Springfield, but it's been awhile since I've bought a 1911.......been on a Glock kick for about 10 years....
I'll be investigating this one further.......

Along with Ruger quality. It would be on my list if I were looking for a 1911.

I just picked up the SR9. A bit smaller round, really had in mind a piece that would fit the wife or daughter better in a pinch. That and it's 18+ capacity made it a hard one to pass up. Ruger makes a good platform right here in the USofA. I would also like this SR1911, if I were looking..

Being a fan of the 1911 that's probably moved to the top of the short list. I have always been disapointed from afar (chose not to buy) with Ruger's semi-auto offerings excepting the MK II 22s. This looks good though. I also enjoyed watching the video. The old fart can shoot and it's always fun to watch another enjoying himself. The kind of shooting I most often enjoy with Dad and Brother.
Nothing like the smell of gunpowder mixed with the sound of windchimes.....

My favorite Ruger is a Stainless Bearcat. The little gun is harder to shoot than others but when I do my part a 15 yard squirrel happens.
Ruger also is making a 25 round 10-22 mag. I found one the other day and they work!
