View Full Version : limb camo
I've gotten a few inquiries about the limb camo jobs I'm doing so I posted a couple of pics in the Photo Gallery under "bows of tradtalk > DAS Kinetic Bows". The film is made of Kynar with metalized pigments so it is very tough and durable. The pattern in the pictures is Realtree Brown Hardwoods, but I can get others. Chrono testing shows a drop of only 2 fps at 218 fps, next to nothing. It's offered as an option on my bows.

What are some of the options? Any Predator camo?
Check your PM DAS, I really like it!

Thanks guys,
It really is sweet stuff. It looks just like a factory job when I'm done, and it will last. There are several patterns available. Mossy oak, realtree etc. I've just been using the brown hardwoods because it goes so well with my black risers.
The ones I did for Van look brand new! I can do any flat surface or surfaces like limbs that curve in one direction. It won't work on compound curved surfaces though.
David- Wow a paint job causes more loss than that! :) John

Those are nice risers you are putting together also. Are they your own personal project or is it one of the majors?
Lane,
Thanks!, the risers are my own design. Several people from this site have been contributing advisors. The first 5 shipped this week so we'll be getting some feedback soon. If you want more info on them I can email you.

I must be blind. Where is the photo gallery.
Steve
Steve,
Go back to "tradtalk" and look at the main menu. You'll see "spike camp", "Watering Hole". etc. Down a little further is the gallery. Lots of good stuff to see. Check out Viper's bow collection. He's running a one man museum!

Nice looking stuff. Have you told the story on them on another thread? If not I would like to hear more on what you are doing. Do your risers take ILF or are you making your own?

TBHNTR,
The real question is what did that buck score in your avatar???
DAS,
Your work looks as good as if not better than factory to me. The talent on this site is just astounding(sp)

Thanks DAS but I'm into the warf/Gamemaster/Sky Conquest route big time and I've only been converting from my wood handle recurves for about 2 months. If I chased after another one it wouldn't work out. As it is I'm stretched real thin.
However. that is a VERY nice riser
did I tell you that was a fantastic riser?
I think you have something there. You also have a very careful and creative eye.
congrats.
OK, how much are they? What length? What is your intended purpose? Barebow, Hunting, target, etc.
TBHNTR,
I do the camo work as a service. $45 for a set of limbs, includes return shipping and insurance.
The bows are brand new. The first ones shipped this week but they have been in development for a while. They are ultra high performance bows, made of specialized alloy. Anyone interested in the whole story should PM me and I'll email more complete info. I'm setting up a bow for Black Wolf tonight that is shooting AMO speeds of 209 fps (60#, 30", 540gr arrow). At 356 gr it is shooting 248.5 fps, that calculates out to IBO 269 fps! The only caveat is that my chrono is not certified. It's just the way it came out of the box, so it could be off an fps or two. The bows are quiet, stable, and virtually vibration free. They accept FITA limbs with my hardware substituted. Thanks for asking!
