Esquire's story about the game warden made me remember an incident that happened when I was a freshmen in High School.
My dad had an old early 70s model lincoln town car when I was in Jr High. He had racked up a lot of miles on it so he sold it to a local fella for not much money. The whole time the guy was looking at the car he kept commenting on how big the trunk was and how much stuff you fit in it.
A few weeks after the guy bought the car he had been poaching and shot three turkey. He tossed them in the trunk and tossed his shotgun in on top of them. As he was walking around from the trunk ot get into the car one of the turkeys started flopping around and hit the trigger on the shotgun. It shot through the rear quarter panel on the car and hit him in the lower part of his leg.
The turkey got his revenge and the game warden's job was easy on that day.
