Guy's, I have been having a little trouble shooting with iron sights, as my vision has weakened with age. In the USMC they taught us to focus on the front sight pin, placing it in the middle of the blurry target. Well now I can no longer do that, so everything on the pistol is a blur, and the target out there seems to be the most in focus thing in my sight picture.
So I recently picked up a pair of 1 power seeing glasses, (I use 2.5's for reading), just to see if they would help me with focus out at arms length. Wow, what a difference!! Now my sights are crystal clear again, and within reasonable distance, say within 30 yards, the target isn't to blurry at all, and it's more in line with what I think I'm suppose to be seeing as I concentrate on my sight picture. This has seriously improved my accuracy, and comfort while shooting.
I know a lot of people use glasses for reading, and others for seeing long distance. This is the first time that I have tried using a pair especially for enhancing a certain focal distance.
I highly recommend trying a cheap pair from Wally World if anyone else is loosing there up close vision, and still likes to run there pistola's with iron sights...

THANKS< I wll check it out.
I have in the last ? 5 years or so started using readers for reading the paper, etc.
I think mine are 1x or 1.5x.
I'd never thought of not seeing the sights clearly though.
Food for thought!

I've worn glasses forever, bifocals for the last several years. Suck with iron sights, give me glass ;-)

I wear glasses as well. My near vision is great but with out my glasses I cant see clearly past a few inches, and thats no joke!

Cant wait to get the scope on the 10/22!! Might be able to get another bushy tail or two.
