Bill McNeal,

I noticed on another thread that you made mention of your hands suffering with the MS.

I am sorry to hear that, and will hold you in my prayers. I'd like to know something more this condition, whether here or by PM, so I can pray more specifically.

Although we disagree about some important theological issues, I am struck again by some common bonds that we share.

You alluded to bowyering, (and I'd love to see some pics of any bows that you have made)!

You also made mention of looking forward to ingesting a little of the grape and snuggling with your wife!

Archery, the grape in all it's fullness, and the love of a good woman who I am proud to call my wife are some of the many blessings in life that I, too, have been privileged to enjoy.

Mike, thanks for the thoughts, I really mean that.............

About 6 years ago I noticed my hands getting numb, and cold. Having shot stickbows for years I figured it was wear, and tear. Then my left eye started getting out of focus, then over the next few years I began to develope spells of stagering weakness, numbness that was near paralyzing, problems breathing, and so forth.

About 3 years ago, after numerous tests, 3 docs said I had MS, Which I believe was a result of 15 years of heavy weight lifting, and body building, which I feel damaged my nervous system. and 2 others say I have central nervous system Lyme disease {permanant}. I was treated with hardcore anti's for the Lymes, and I centered my diet around on based on lean meats, olive oils, greentea, vegatables, and purified water to combat the MS.

I lost close to 2 years of work, but I own a Electrical Contracting business, and my 2 sons basically covered for me, and we got through fine. However believing in Gods Purpose as I now do, I embrace the past several years, and simply say "praise God" for my illness, for out of it He broke me, and made me understand His Desire to adopt me, and to serve Him.

This past year has been the best in awhile. I feel better, all in all, but I still have my "spells", and sometimes I get to out of whack to drive. My long term memory is good, but I suffer with remembering names, and day to day things, but still I do fine, and have been working again. I am heading away with my oldest son for a couple days to start a new Project. I have another Brother in Christ who suffers with Lymes, that lives close by, and we often compare notes, and how we are doing.

Mike, you know the greatest thing about MS, and Lymes is that I know now how comfortable not being in control really is. Joy and I do a weekly ministering to a local nursing home where there. are mostly elderly ladies, with little time left here. On my worst feeling day, I come out of there feeling like Super man, partly because of the singing of hymns, and the Gospel, but compared to those suffering women and men , my health problems are minimal. I think MS is just my "thorn" so to speak. I got Grace, and I focus on that on the bad days.

As for my bows, I used to build a lot. Maybe a couple hundred. I gave them all away cept for a few. I built one 5 this year for friends, and started messing with bamboo backings, but I don't like them , like I like selfbows. I still hunt, and got 8 deer this year. 5 were with a compound because my fingers suffer alot pulling a string, and the release aid helps. My best buck was with a recurve though :)

Ah, wine and women............. :highfive: ..........At 43 I have not travelled much, will never be worldly wealthy, and will be of little fame, but I tell you I have been blessed with my wife. I met her when I was 7, and she was 6. I started to date her when she was 16. We have been married 25 years. The last of our 3 adult children left home yesterday. We cried, we prayed, we drank a glass of wine, and we loved oneanother, and went to bed with the hope that we never be seperated, and that we will live as "one flesh" for eternity.

Mike, my friend, I tell you, I am convinced know that marriage is as TRUELY close to we can get to Jesus Christ here on earth. Next to Him, it is the only true constant in my life.

Mike, I thank you soooooooo much for thinking of me, for praying for me, and for lifting me up. It's good to be loved...........

In love..............................b

Shalom!
