Anyone on here familar with Quikspin Vanes? I remember thinking they were just a gimmic but then read something positive about them from Limbwalker (can't remember where exactly). Saw some in a local archery/gun shop (I was actually looking for handgun ammo - LOL) and decided to try them on my indoor arrows.
Those are X7 2214s, currently with three 4" para feathers. Since I weighted them to drop like a rock they aren't exactly tuned to the bow and wobble quite a bit. I thought the Quikspin vanes might stabilize them sooner.
Well after shooting a NFAA 300 with them yesterday, the jury is still out. They do stabilize the arrow sooner. They seemed to shoot pretty accurately, despite the fact that the black rubber "lip" that gives them their quick spin was rubbing on the shelf. When I rotated the nock to get proper clearance I seemed to get more flyers. Final score sucked (talk about choking - LOL).
What started this is the rapid wear I am seeing on the 4" feathers. My other alternative is FlexFletch vanes, which I have had exceptionaly good luck with so far (target and field applications, not indoors). I'm going to shoot another 300 before giving up on the Quikspins but wondered what some of you might think.
