Anyone on here familar with Quikspin Vanes? I remember thinking they were just a gimmic but then read something positive about them from Limbwalker (can't remember where exactly). Saw some in a local archery/gun shop (I was actually looking for handgun ammo - LOL) and decided to try them on my indoor arrows.

Those are X7 2214s, currently with three 4" para feathers. Since I weighted them to drop like a rock they aren't exactly tuned to the bow and wobble quite a bit. I thought the Quikspin vanes might stabilize them sooner.

Well after shooting a NFAA 300 with them yesterday, the jury is still out. They do stabilize the arrow sooner. They seemed to shoot pretty accurately, despite the fact that the black rubber "lip" that gives them their quick spin was rubbing on the shelf. When I rotated the nock to get proper clearance I seemed to get more flyers. Final score sucked (talk about choking - LOL).

What started this is the rapid wear I am seeing on the 4" feathers. My other alternative is FlexFletch vanes, which I have had exceptionaly good luck with so far (target and field applications, not indoors). I'm going to shoot another 300 before giving up on the Quikspins but wondered what some of you might think.

I saw something about them here http://sagittarius.student.utwente.nl/bb/viewforum.php?f=3

I see a bunch of compound guys useing them at the shop but have not tried them myself.I shoot off the shelf and while I have tried a 4" vane cock in with decent results I still shoot feathers.Good luck

Try a search on archery talk. Should be a lot of feedback there.

The 4" QS vanes do wear easily. Too easily. They have recently come out with 2.25" and 1.5" models that are made from a better material, and the kicker is molded in, not added later. Those are much more durable than the original 4" models.

I like the QS vanes. I haven't yet found the right application for them in my archery, but if I were a compound shooter, they're all I would use.

I get a little too much drag with them to use them at 90 meters, otherwise I would have them on my fita arrows. I use Flex-fletch, and they are unbelieveably tough.

QS vanes are a good product though.

As I said in my starting post, they do stabilize my heavy indoor arrows (582g with the Quikspins on).

I did a search on AT and the concensis seems to be they help a great deal with broadheads and do stabilize arrows quickly. The draw back is they are not suitable for multiple arrows in the same target. They are damaged easily and at the price preplacing them is non-trivial.

Since I shoot barebow and don't use the 5 spot face, guess I will strip them off and try FlexFletch instead. Now the question is: parabolic or their low profile 400? Ain't this stuff fun!!!!

Dave, I'd stick with their parabolics.

They do make a nice shield shape, but I'm not sure how large they make those sheilds. My 1.87" vanes are shield shaped, and look nice.
