is that a bow kill? If so tell us about your set up and a little story wouldn't hurt, either. :)

Nope, I'm sorry to say that it is a rifle kill. Since we only get 3 days to fill a tag, I didn't want to take chances not having meat for the freezer this year.
Check the main forum to find the story.

I know the feeling about having to use a rifle. I had a moose draw in BC last year, and couldn't fill it even with the bang stick. I'm in the same boat this year as I'm living four hours away from home and need the meat, so I may have to get my mulie that way again, although its really not how I want to.

No shame in shooting with a rifle...Since we mostly hunt for the meat anyhow, you do what it takes right. Sure a bow killed moose would make a great story, but the stories around this hunt are just as memorable. I know all who frequent this site would agree.
Besides, I don't wanna haul a 600lb animal any further than I need to! :)

 I am the other hunting nut that was on this hunt and many thanks to Eastern for taking me with him. We had a blast on this hunt and I look forward to many more with my new hunting partner. Have not had a good partner to hunt with for a few years as my Dad got to the point that he could not go out as much and definitly could not stay out overnight anymore.
Thanks Eastern for the memories. :thankyou:
