Damn good trigger control Bow!
The stock has the magnum pins inletted. Fluted too.
That 257 W far supercedes the meaning of "Bean field rifle"!
Congrats Bow!!!!!!!!Fine shooting iron. Good shooting too.
Oh yes, and the one piece mount, and Leupold, ALA the best kind of leather strap!
Me thinks you a Rifleman!!!

That right there justifies a trip for pronghorns. Sweet!

Thanks Sam. I'm not that good. That's why I took the picture ;) . I'm gonna back out to 200 yds. tomorrow if I get the chance to send a few downrange.

Yep Dana I thought about Greenghost and his daughter chasing those pronghorns out in Wyo. when I sent those two rounds down range. Low recoil on a very effective round. Much lighter weight than the 25-06 Sendero. I wanted to send a few more down range when I got home but I was tapped out from work.

Bow,

you're too modest. Excellent shooting, and what a gun!
Was that factory ammo? Also, what are the specs of your scope?
The pronghorns should be very afraid.

Wow. That's a beauty. I need to exercise my rifles this summer.

Excellent shooting. Now, if you can just learn to do that at full gallop...

OK Mike, can you hold a target at full gallop?......;)

The Remington .257 is holding up in its grouping. Shot three more rounds at 100 yds. across the range out back and tore a ragged hole. Out to 185 yds. the group opened up to 1". Weatherby guarantees 1-1/2" at 100 yds. in their rifles so I'm very happy so far. This 700 CDL is a great improvement cost-wise in the Weatherby cal. and I've gotta check the freebore in the chamber because it looks to be a bit less than the Wby.
All in all a great morning out back. Life is good.

Lol! That'll teach me to be more specific!

BTW, I like the shooting bench. How about some rough dimensions? My wheels are turning!

I'll do ya better than that. I'll work up a detail with actual photos and dimensions. Probably be first of next week but I'll post it here.

Here's a start Mike. I'll get up some more details this weekend.

6-3' 2x6
4-35" 2x6
2-4'-6" 2x6
2- seat 2x6
1- angled 2x6 top support approx. 40" long
4- 2x6 short top (desired length)
3- 2x6 long top (desired length)
125- 3" plated deck screws
2- tubes Liquid Nails
6- 12' 2x6

I am going to add a rifle rest from a notched 1x6 along the edge to secure leaned rifles along the side. I'll detail that later.

If you want to scale the drawing you'll have to make the appropriate adjustments.
