new bow

ok ... i've decided to "make my own" longbow

right now, my single most pressing question is: where do i cut the arrow rest in? i assume it's in the very middle of the bow? if that's correct, do i measure from limb tips or string nocks? :sbrug:

Most shelves are cut 1 in. above center. That would make the center of the bow the throat or pivot point. Center mark your riser then you will have line to work from. The string grooves will be an equal distance from center top and bottom.
