HeHE... I knew there was a good chance it was gonna happen this morning. Saw you were on-line before noon today and asked how you and James had faired over on the other thread.
Way to go there, Lambow!
Yeah, what gives anyway? A deer down report is not complete without photos, equipment data, and play-by-play commentary. :)
LET'S HEAR IT!

Ok fellows, here it is. I shot the deer this morning from my stand inside 40 yds.of the woods line, from a corner of a grown up field, where she came out. It was still a little dark, but light enough to pick a good spot, & sight picture. Every thing felt good, as i settled deep into anchor.....
When i cought movement of her, she was coming out of a briar patch & quartering slightly away when i loosed the string. The shot felt good, and i thought i had made a good hit. She left out pretty fast with her tail down.
So, i waited a little while & got down to look for my arrow. Oh yea, i shot a judo to the same spot where i shot at the deer to be able to find my arrow & first blood, everything looks diffrent when you get on the ground.... Found my arrow, but was a little disappointed at the green stuff on it. I figured i'd go just a few yds. to look for blood, not wanting to jump her up, if it was a straight out gut shot. I knew better than to push her, if i felt that it was. But it wasn't far till i found blood....lung blood, that is. I slowly tracked to where she made a right turn into a privet hedge thicket, and she was still alive, but sick. I was able to give her a finnishing shot... On dressing out, gut & 1 lung punctured.
My warf bow is 50#'s @ 29"- Arrows are ICS 500 hunters, woodsman bhds. total weight, 420grn..... I am very pleased with my set up. The deer didn't jump at the shot, due to the Mtn. muffler string either.
Piney, you had a feelin that i might have conected this mornin, didn't you?
If the picture shows up, that's my little Grand son Nathan in front of me.

Dang, you don't waste any time! Wasn't even sun up yet.
hmmm.... that would be 8.4 gr/lb and not an up-front weighted carbon either. Arrow went clean through to boot. I'm very interested in the results of carbons in the 8-9 gr/lb range... this will be my first year going that route. You sure ya don't want to use a 10-12 gr/lb arrow for more penetration? LOL
Sounds like you made a very fine shot on that deer. I've had some one-lungers as well from elevated positions, they always go down... some quicker than others. Congratulations!
If need some help getting that photo posted, call me tomorrow around mid-day and see what we can do.

Here it is, fellas... a wonderful picture with grandson Nathan and the first whitetail kill of the season here on TradTalk. I spoke with Lambow this evening and it sounds like those Sky limbs on his Warfer, with Beman carbons and WW's sure did the trick. What a fantastic shot... puts my shooting abilities to shame. :bow2:
Great job there, my friend. :highfive:

Thanks Piney, the warfer seems to be drawin em into me.... Took this little fella "on the ground", i thought it was a doe, but found it had a 2" antler on one side, and 3" on the other. With the velvet still on.
Thank God for young dumb deer, or i wouldn't of killed one by now.... They do tast better & are not as tough as the older ones tho.
I did see a trophy class buck earlier in the week, on the property i killed the first deer on... Saw him from the truck, when showing a fella what i wanted bush hoged. He has gotten me a little more excited about hunting this property this season.

Huh? I ain't done nothin' but plug my MacKenzie target and setup stands for the last 3 weeks... both deer are Lambow's. I'm just chompin' at the bit to get out there when October arrives and thump 'em with those WW's that Lambow turned me on to. :)

Well fellas, i got lucky again this mornin when a little fork horn ran into another one of the Warf's arrows... It was a similar shot that James W. made on his deer.
I'll see if Piney will post a pic. for me.
