Guys,
This just occured to me. I'm not sure why I didn't think about it earlier. I don't know how many of you keep in touch with Papa Bull (Robert). That guy works LONG HOURS at HIS EXPENSE to bring this wonderful website to us. He asks NOTHING in return. How often do you get a deal like that?? If I think about the enjoyment, entertainment, knowledge, and friends that have come from using this site, it is just staggering.
There two ways we can help Robert. One is too buy from Tradmall whenever you can. Sure you might save a buck getting something from Walmart, but would you rather support the Chinese or Robert?? The second idea that I had is this. I'm pretty hard up for cash right now, as my friends know well, but I've decided to stick $20 in an envelope and send it to him. It's not much, but if we all kick in what we can it will help offset his out of pocket costs of doing all this for US.
Now he's going to come on here and say NO NO NO, because that's the way he is! Ignore him!
I don't think anyone needs to post what they send, or even if they do. It's not a contest. Just ask your conscience what is right, and do it. My wife and I can blow $20 on one movie. Half the time we walk out sad with gum on our shoes. This by comparison is a bargain!

sounds like a plan, ill be ordering some strings soon from him, ill call it a tip, people tip people right? :sbrug:

this is a great place and he should accept it, somtimes its worse to turn down a good gesture rather then accept it and deny that person from doing somthing heartfelt. know what i mean?

I'm hoping he will eventually allow for some sort of membership arrangement that will give some kind of special priviledges, such as top of the list on string orders.

Are you listening PB?

I've already bought strings (4 - I think) from him. If he doesn't get his Jocky shorts wadded up over this, I'll send him a check the next time the retirement buzzard drops its load (LOL). This is the best place on the web...period!

All Good points guys,
Just think, if not for this sight, where would we be?? Now that's scary! Unlike LW and other sites, this one accepts no sponsership and that is why we can say almost anything we want here. We can even debate Papa Bull's strings! On the other sites, anything negative that gets brought up about a sponser, or anything a sponser carries is instantly zapped. I've seen things zapped when I couldn't even figure out whose toe got stepped on. :sbrug:
This site is free for everyone but Papa Bull, that hardly seems fair.

Well I did may part or should I say part of my part... I ordered a string from him back on the 16th of this month. I can also cheap in some money here and there. :jesus:

I bought 2 strings, and have a set of limbs on order. Good way to get good material, and support this site.

I'm trying to make it really easy for you guys to help out by sourcing the best deals I can on stuff you'd buy anyway. That's a win/win situation. Proceeds help support the site and you get pricing as good or better than any I can find anywhere on the 'net'.

Meanwhile, maybe it's time to start the next tee-shirt drive so you get a nice TradTalk tee-shirt as appreciation for your support. So go ahead and save your pennies and I'll start sourcing some tee-shirts or hats - let me know what you'd prefer?!

There will be some new features coming soon that I think everyone will enjoy - it's in the woks and it's just a matter of getting the time to finish it up for you guys.

Thanks again for the support. You guys make this site what it is. I just try to make it a good home for you.

Robert:

I think the T-Shirts are a good idea, but how about a Trad Talk logo on the front, and "I get My Strings From Papa Bull" on the back? I know some shoots I'd love to wear that shirt to. How about it guys?

I'm in for a tee-shirt! I prefer things that are aren't too gaudy :)

Ball caps get in the way of my bowstring, so I'll vote for the T-shirts too. Don't forget the gargantuan extra-fat sizes, Robert. I take a 2XLT myself (how else do you think I ended up with my draw length - LOL).

This and AT are the only boards I'd pay to be a member. Very laid back and friendly atmosphere. A point brought home recently. I also have a nice thought for anyone using the trading blanket. If you make a sale send Robert a little "sellers fee". I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is. I recently sold my FITA hunting rig in pieces off the TB so I'm going to send Robert $5.00.

Great idea guys
I hope you can export a few shirts over here to England. Im sure the other Brits will be as pleased as me to carry the name around on their backs.

P.S. How about supplying a Trad Talk limb sticker with every string? It shouldn't cost much more than a few cents to have them made.

I thought I already did set the price. $0.00 always sounded pretty fair to me. :) Having the support and participation from a group of guys like the members here is worth more than money. I honestly don't believe there is any group of more talented and thoughtful individuals anywhere on the net.

EagelArcher, the limb sticker is an excellent idea. I've got to remember to look in that. And yes, I'll have the tee-shirts available to members no matter where they live.

I'd like to get in on this T-shirt thing. Being on the portly side, I would need 3XL's so I could keep my belly button covered. (grin)

An anonymous photographer captured an image of Robert, bending over backwards to provide us a place to talk.
