This is the bow I finished yesterday. I started it last winter and worked on it off and on since. It's osage, with two layers of sinew and sturgeon skin for backing. I named it Surf & Turf.

60" ntn and 65# @ 28". It sure doesn't take much sinew and osage to make a 65# bow. I wanted to put horn nocks on it and a few other things, but I have another bow that's just about done and the season is almost here, so I just went ahead and finished it up so I could get on to the other one. It's pretty forgiving for a short, light toothpick of a recurve and puts heavy hickory arrows where I want em, so even though I'm a longbow kinda guy, I'm basically happy with it.

Wonderful looking bow Jeff. If not for the DAS I would be talking to you about a bow! But in all honesty I am so spoiled with Davids DAS that it really has me not even looking on ebay.
Again great looking bows! John

Jeff,

You are truly one of the more talented bowyers I have seen. Your bows are absolutely beautiful!

Jeff, I'm a recurve kind of guy... and that bow really has some nice lines. You did good! I've never lost the appreciation of a great-looking wooden recurve when I see it, and that sure is one of 'em. The grip work is very nice too. Sturgeon, huh.... reminds me of my fishing days back in Iowa on the Des Moines river, scads of them prehistoric-looking fish down there.
