Who are the wise virgins and who are the unwise virgins? Since all ten are virgins does this mean that all ten have been washed clean by the blood of Jesus? What do we have to do to make sure we are wise virgins and have enough oil in our lamps when Christ comes to snatch away his bride before the start of the tribulation?

See my last post on the "I Thes." thread...

and the whole of Mathew 25. The end of the chapter makes it beautifully (and horrifyingly) clear what "wise virgins" do... and use for "oil".

BTW Garry, Mathew 25 not only makes NO mention of any "tribulation" (nor any other derivitive of "extra time"), but our Lord speaks of the end... as the END... period. When it comes, it will be "gathering" day for ALL people (see vs. 31-46... ESPECIALLY vs. 31-33).

Sackett,

Are all ten virgins believers since they are virgins? What do we have to do to know for sure that we have enough oil in our lamps?

Concerning the Tribulation, I think it is 2,520 days in length. It is composed of two equal periods of 1260 days [42 months…..three and one-half years] to each period. See Daniel 9:27, Revelation 11:3, and Revelation 13:5. This is a total of seven years of 360 days in each year. 2520 divided by 7 = 360.

I think the wise virgins are snatched up/caught up/raptured just before the start of the tribulation and become the bride of Christ. I think the unwise virgins (believers without enough oil in their lamps) have to go through the tribulation along with the non-believers. The unwise believers are those who will have their robes washed clean during the tribulation. Most of them will be killed during the tribulation and those which were martyred are those under the table asking the Lord how much longer. The wise virgins raptured before the start of the tribulation plus the 144,000 wise virgins (these wise virgins go through the tribulation to fullfill God's purpose and then are raptured at the end of the tribulation period just before God pours out his wrath on those remaining on earth) make up the bride group of Christ. The unwise virgins and the non-believers who become believers during the tribulation receive salvation and eternal life but are not part of the bride group.
