Guys,
This may be "old news" for you, but being a "newby" at this trad thing, I thought I'd ask, anyway.
Do any of you have any pics of a warf bow? Or can you tell me where I could find them. If there were any posted on this forum, I must haved missed them! :sbrug:
A couple of you guys have talked to me about the bows. I had the privilege of talking with the Warf, himself, on the phone. NICE Guy! :bow2:
I've got to quit talking to you guys about bows! If I buy another one (I'm wanting a warf bow) my wife may stick me in front of the target and use ME as the primary target! :jk:
Thanks

Well welcome to the club. My wounds are still healing from my wife after I went from $900 compounds to $200 stickbows back to $900 compounds then finally back to the stickbow. :help: Yes.....I have issues. :mistake:
Anyway, tell your wife that there is another woman in Minnesota who would like to double up on that target "practice." :highfive: LOL!

The good thing is warf's bow's cost a lot less than many customs (shoot bettter too) so you can expain to your wife that you actually saved money buying one.
Seriously I've been meaning to do a warf bow report with pictures for a few weeks. I'm off work tommorow so hopefully I can get to the archery shop and use their chrono.

Another rookie here and I'd sure like to see them, too, as well as learning more about these infamous bows.
I don't really need one.... but I want one.... so I must need one.
Follow? Completely logical.

Bob and his bow work have sent me on a quest in a new direction. My search for the perfect hunting recurve bow had been expanded by his wealth of knowledge. We on this board are so lucky to have him here. I just sold my 1st warfer but son of warf is almost ready and I am sure I will get pictures up soon. :thankyou: John

I have been playing with an assortment of warf-type bows. I say "type" because while they are all basically built with recycled compound risers--which to me is the common thread in "warf-bows"--- most of them are made up with non-ILF limbs. Most of these are made with conventional limbs.
From left to right there is a Hoyt mountian something or other bow that has been fitted with a set of Bill Stewart's recurve limbs. Next is a Bear Black Bear riser wiht a set of Hoyt gamemaster limbs, Next is a Hoyt TD-2 20 inch riser wiht a set of old Hoyt Spirit hunter limbs, Then in the middle is another Hoyt TD-2 20" riser with a set of Hoyt ILF FX limbs that have had the ILF fittings removed and solidly bolted to the riser---this is a very very fast bow. The next bow is an old Hoyt Rambo riser with a set of unidentified custom takedown limbs. fololowwing that is a very short 17" Blue Mountain
"Wolverine" riser that I have fitted a set of Hoyt Gamemaster limbs to. The last bow is made up of a cheap PSE Sentry recurve riser and another set of Gamemaster or Spirit Hunter limbs.
All of these bows pull between 55 and 65 at my 29.5" and all will throw a 400 grain arrow over 200fps---most in the 220 range and the one with the FX limbs quite a bit more than that.
Hey where'd the pics go????? Ok the file was too big---try again

ol' paakrat--dat's me. I come from a long line of'em.
I've got about 30 odd bows and a couple of sets of unmatched-up limbs and risers, I doubt it holds a tiny candle to the Warf's collection though.
I've got to unload some of them one of these days though---running out of space in the hall to hang'em up

about half of mine are metal risered bows. most of the rest that are "keepers" are either older Martins or Damon Howatts plus my Stewart and Jeffrey Tds
