Whew...someone has done some homework ;)

I can't say if I agree or disagree with any of that specifically, but I'm looking forward to studing it with all of you.

First, and foremost... No man knows the hour (Mt. 24:27; Lk. 12:35-40; I Thes. 4:13- chapter 5:3; Rev. 16:15, etc.)...

NOT EVEN THE SON OF MAN (Mt. 24:36).

Ours has never been a calling to "know" the "end-time" timeline, but rather to know AND obey the owner of not only "that time"... but of ALL time and things.

Now, for some of the references made...

* Rev. 4:1 says absolutely NOTHING about any form/type of "rapture". In fact, that word NEVER appears in our Father's word... ANYWHERE.

The verse referenced is clear about its content and context... that of John being called up to witness "what must take place after this...".

* "Tribulation" (7 years). This word, used in such a context... NEVER EXISTS IN THE WORD OF THE ALMIGHTY... EVER.

* The referencing of Daniel, chapter 9... clearly speaks of the "temple" in its context. THERE HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY NO TEMPLE SINCE A.D. 70, when the Roman general Titus laid waste to what was left of Jerusalem (including the temple). He and his barberous actions fit the context of this reference to a tee.

For brevity's sake, let's go down to the referencing of Rev. 19:19 in reference to "Armageddon" (funny, the ONLY place that word is used is in Rev. 16:16. NOTE: It clearly states in that verse that this term is a Hebrew term. It's a derivitive of the 'plain of Meggido', found only in 2 Chronicles 35:22).

In fact, reading the context of the scripture given for this great "battle" (Rev. 19:17-21) shows quite plainly that NO BATTLE EVER OCCURS. Before it could start the beast AND the false prophet were captured... the rest, were killed by the "sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse."

In short, like Peter, when he wanted to know what would happen to another servant of the King, the WHOLE of scripture makes it plain that our job is NOT to spend our energy trying to figure out when this all will END... but rather "... You must follow me." (Jn. 21:20-22) until the Father's appointed hour of Judgement (Mt. 25... the whole chapter is about being "READY".). I find that to be not only biblical... but quite enough of a challenge, itself.

Referring to the Rapture, why did Jesus say, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man" (Mt. 24:36), when in Mark 13:23,33, he said, "take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you ALL THINGS".
The word "knoweth" is present tense. On that day, no man knew. I don't think it means that no man can ever know.

Rev. 3:3 says, "Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what HOUR I will come upon thee." Turn it around. If we do watch, he will not come on us as a thief, and we will know the hour.

The word “rapture” comes from Paul's "caught up" remark in 1 Thess 4:17. The words “caught up” are translated from the Greek word harpazo, which means "to carry off," "snatch up," or "grasp hastily." The translation from harpazo to “rapture” involved two steps: first, harpazo became the Latin word raptus; second, raptus became the English word “rapture.”

This generation (the last generation) is to be given signs. In Luke 21:25, Jesus said, "THERE SHALL BE SIGNS in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars (lit., constellations); and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring
We must watch for signs and pray that we will be accounted worthy to escape in the Pre-Trib Rapture. In Luke 21:36, Jesus concluded with, "WATCH ye therefore, and PRAY always, that ye may be ACCOUNTED WORTHY TO ESCAPE all these things that shall come to pass (i.e., in the Tribulation), and to stand before the Son of man" (in Heaven).

Rev. 4:1 says that John was "caught up" or raptured.

In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Paul writes: "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

I see nothing wrong with discussing these topics as long as someone doesn't become consumed by it and miss the deeper and more important message within the Bible.

If we can talk archery, why can't we talk about Revelations?
