View Full Version : The Anti-Christ Cometh

Thus, the Antichrist cometh!

The “Land for Peace” equation, by its very definition, legitimized terrorism as a form of political persuasion. Over the last dozen years, Israel has in effect given up almost all of its hard-won 1967 land in exchange for nothing that even resembles an illusion of peace.

Here are some of the stark facts:

(1) Palestinian leaders have made no effort to disarm or dismantle the existing terror groups.

(2) There has been no recognition of Israel’s right to exist, which is the most basic premise upon which any peace can be based.

This has been rewarded by the Bush administration embracing them as worthy peace partners. The Palestinians aren’t expecting that they will ever destroy Israel. They are using terror to force the world to do it for them.

The Quartet, led by the French, forced Sharon to ‘coordinate’ with Abbas in order to ensure a ‘smooth transition’ of power, turning what had been a tactical offensive move into a humiliating military defeat. Sharon was committed to the withdrawal, but the Quartet handed all the best bargaining cards to Abbas.

Not only did the French ‘initiative’ on behalf of the Quartet stick a bayonet into Sharon’s back, it handed global terrorism a resounding victory.

Al-Jazeera made the Islamic world’s perception clear, “However, some analysts believe that, whether Israel likes it or not, the atmosphere that will prevail during the evacuation process will certainly show Israel as a defeated state, while the Palestinians celebrate and reap the fruits of their armed conflict.”

The prophet Ezekiel predicts a period of time just before he Messiah comes when Israel would be “a land of unwalled villages at rest, dwelling safely without walls, having neither bars nor gates.” (Ezekiel 38:1-11)
In this same context, he prophesied that an army from Israel’s extreme north would lead a confederacy of nations to invade. All of the nations in this confederacy are Muslim today. The Muslim leader is foreseen as Persia or modern Iran.

The ‘Gaza First’ plan as originally conceived, envisioned walling out the terrorists in Gaza, and then completing the terror wall around Israel.

Think of it for a moment. This is the 21st century. While it may have made sense in Ezekiel’s day to build walls for protection, it doesn’t make sense in today’s world to erect such easily breached defenses. It makes no sense in an era of smart bombs and aircraft. Yet in this unique era of terrorists, it makes perfect sense.

So this is precisely what Israel is being forced to do. In the process, it is setting the stage for the fulfillment of Ezekiel’s prophecy.

All of this is setting up another very important prophecy. The prophet Daniel foresaw a false peace treaty being negotiated with the Antichrist during this same time frame. You can bet the farm that one of the terms for peace will be the dismantling of Israel’s anti-terrorist wall.

Daniel predicted that one of the facets of the peace formula would be based on ‘dividing the land for gain’ (Daniel 11:39). He also predicted that it would be the confirmation of a covenant that guaranteed Israel’s security.

The NIV version of Daniel 9:27 says, “He will confirm a covenant with many for one seven” – meaning a sabbatical year of seven years. The word ‘confirm’ comes from the Hebrew word gabar, meaning 'to strengthen' or to 'confirm'. In this context it is used in the sense of “making an existing covenant work because of the power of the one making it.”

The word covenant here is used in the sense of a solemn guarantee of security.

The failed Oslo Agreement signed in 1993 (that spawned what Israel calls the ‘Oslo War’) was due to have reached its goal by September, 2000 and was based on the formula of ‘land for peace’.

Every subsequent peace effort has been based on the Oslo formula. The Oslo formula is on its face surrender to terror, since at its heart it is an exchange of land in return for a cessation of terror.

And it is, to this point, unconfirmed in the sense that it has not borne fruit. No one has the power to make it work. Israel remains the target of terrorism, despite its concessions. Daniel predicts that the Antichrist will have this power.

The EU has offered many times in the past to guarantee Israel’s security in exchange for a lasting peace agreement. But the only thing missing is someone of sufficient stature to convince Israel to trust its security to him.

Thus, the Antichrist cometh.

The ‘Quartet’s’ effort to bring peace will fail. So will the Gaza disengagement plan, since ‘the Quartet’ has dealt all the best cards to the Palestinian side. But soon, a leader of the revived Roman Empire of Europe will arise and come up with a deal that both sides will accept. Such a deal could be introduced at almost any time.

But the Bible predicts that at some point before that deal is inked, the Lord Himself must descend from heaven and snatch all believers up to meet Him in the air. He will instantly change us from mortal to immortal.

Paul tells us to comfort one another with these words. The Lord IS coming! And, according to the signs of the times, He is coming soon!

FROM THE END OF THE FIRST POST.....
"From Hal Lindsey"...a FICTION writer.

Jesus, the Author AND Finisher of our faith told another person, who was far more concerned with earthly political events than truly knowing the King of kings... "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews..."

The condition of the physical Jerusalem/Israel has absolutely no bearing on

* A man's need for Hope/Salvation
or
* The gospel, and the Lord of that gospel's ability to make both a reality, for all who believe and surrender.

It did not in A.D. 70, when the prophecies of our Lord and his prophets of old came true concerning the physical Jerusalem and Israel (as Titus sacked Jerusalem, his forces tore down every stone, just as our Master had said they would. They also destroyed all the records of lineage... there has not been a Levitical high-priest, nor a temple sacrifice since that day.).

In fact, none of the apostolic (or 1st century fellow-soldiers') writings dating from that time on till John's Patmos vision even mention the fate of the physical nation OR Jerusalem...

It did not in the over 18 centuries between the biblical TRIBAL nation of Israel and the Truman invisioned establishment of a "legally recognized" (at least, by most of the Allied forces of WWII) nation called Israel.

NOTE: Did you realize that NOT ONE JEW has been able to legally trace his lineage in almost 2,000 years? Yet, for over 1,500 years before that...through MANY exiles, dispersions and occupations, THEY HAD ALWAYS BEEN ABLE TO KEEP TRACK. Could it be that the God of ALL flesh kept that ability intact... until such time that the physical Israel was no longer the point of His dealings with mankind?

One thing dominated the thoughts, passions, dreams, speech and reason for enduring for ALL of God's people, from John, the baptizer on... JESUS.

* Mathew 3:1-12 (esp. vs. 7-10). See also the terrifying reality of this in John 8:31-59! Notice the people He's talking to are the same throughout this incident "...the Jews who had believed Him..." vs. 31.

Look at how they change... what they say to our Lord... and, in vs. 59... what these "Jews who believed Him" did.

NOTE: this type of flip-flop mentality isn't a "Jew" thing... it's a human thing.

* John 6:68
* John 12:32
* Acts 4:12
* I Cor. 2:2
* I Cor. 3:11

As a matter of fact, when Paul, the great lover of his own country/countrymen spoke "salvation" things... the ONLY things that issued forth concerned Jesus (not one single breath of a mention of any need for Israel/Jerusalem/the Mosaic priesthood to be around/re-established/fought for/etc./etc.).

Such as,

* Ro. 5:1-11 (the rest of Romans will point the same direction...)

Hal Lindsey was a fairly talented fiction writer. But his musings on "end times" are as the "fine dust on the scales" compared to those inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the things that would be needful for any man, of any time/century/era to know in order to be pleasing to the Father of the surrendered and the Owner of all.

If being willing to die for the establishment/maintainance of the physical Israel/Jerusalem were vital... or even pertinent to God's plan of salvation...

wouldn't our King have spoken about it? Wouldn't that have been the message on the Day of Pentecost? Wouldn't the 12 have spent themselves in doing just that? Wouldn't at least Paul have given his last breath making it so?

Jesus, our Lord, was not crucified for His determination to see that the nation of Israel/Jerusalem/the temple priesthood would never pass from this earth...

He was crucified "...in the fullness of time", precicely because, as the writer of Hebrews makes beautifully clear, He is a better high priest, offering a better and lasting sacrifice and is the Author of a new and better covenent.

If you insist on the re-establishment of the physical Israel, you MUST also insist on everything that made it the holy nation God brought forth out of Egypt... including the Levitical priesthood... the temple... the sacrifices... and a covenent that Jesus died to bring to a completion.

My God, why would anyone do such a thing?

Because my Bible tells me so.

No sir, it does not.

If you somehow single-handedly find all the geneological records, subdue and drive out all the non-Jewish occupants of the land, build a temple, set up a priesthood and supply all the sacrifices for a generation...

you will have done nothing to bring men to the Father's only Begotten, our Saviour, Jesus.

In fact, according to His awesome word, you will have spent yourself in an effort to make "another way" to sonship than that which God, the Father designed and Jesus, the Son died to bring forth.

"...If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the law was given to the people), why was there still need for another priest to come--one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?

For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law. He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar. For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests. And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears, one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life .

For it is declared: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek."

The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God .

And it was not without an oath!

Others became priests without any oath, but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him:

"The Lord has sworn and will not change His mind: You are a priest forever ."

Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant ...." (Hebrews 7:11-22)

"...But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises .

For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. But God found fault with the people and said:

'The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord.

This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord.

I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.

For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.'

By calling this covenant "new", He has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear." (Hebrews 8:6-13)

NOTE: The first 10 chapters of Hebrews were written to make this point very clear.

I think it does.

Let's just agree to disagree on this and move on.

Thanks
