I think it should say "dont make enough money" rather than "dont work enough."

I guess that would be less funny.

EDIT: Its seems to me the people most upset about all this stuff is people who retired on big fat pensions that were created over the last 30 years while we artificially pumped up our economy by running the national government into debt and by sending half our jobs to other countries.

No I think they said it right.

It seems to me those not upset about this are those sucking on the government nipple.

Well Im not. but I see a lot of people around me who who either cant find work or the work they have pays so bad that they qualify for hand outs.

I also see see a lot of retired people with big pensions and investments that were saved by tarp, who are saying "dont raise taxes" and "the recession isnt so bad."

A lot? How many is that, 3-4 maybe 100 people saved by TARP, I don't know so please tells us how many were saved. Oh and by the way, as you probably know I was against TARP, and any other government bailout.

Its more than that at least if you consider federal unemployment to be a form of hand out like I do. And the amount of people I know who get earned income tax credits is huge - plenty of them worked 40s hours a week(at least until they were layed off.)

And probably half the retired people I know would have lost investments and pensions if the the Government hadnt propped up Wall Street. The people who built our broken economy dont want to pay the taxes it took to save their asses.

For the most part those retired people who have pensions and investments worked for those vehicles and paid taxes
at a pretty good clip while doing so. Now you want to tax them more for the privilage of keeping some of it?

Well they didnt "earn" what they have now.
What they earned through a crooked system they ended up losing through the same crooked system. Then The Government bailed them out.

Retired people with pensions and investments funds rescued by tarp are the worst free loaders of all.

How much did you pay in taxes last year, Dart?
Under 10k I suspect.

Are you saying anybody that was smart enough to save and invest for retirement are greedy bastards? That none of them did it honestly?

I dont see what was "smart" about investing through institutions that ultimately failed(and more would have failed with out TARP.)

How is that relevant? Although for the record I spent most of last year living off my savings between an injury and the last 3 months of the year having a dead economy.

I rest my case!

Savings?
Only a greedy person not willing to share all would have savings.
Better get a tax on it so it can be "redistributed" properly.

It would help if you made a case.
Really - I have no idea what your point is because you didnt even try to make one.

Any savings left?
Better get a tax on it.

Where did I suggest taxing savings themselves?
Although Most of my savings were/are in FDIC banks and actual stocks(Wal*Mart worked out quite well).
I have small portion in mutual funds and I would rather have risked them than sell the country down the drain with Tarp.

Pensions, investments and savings are all the result of earned income - if you want to go after one, then all must be fair game. Or you let the earner keep a little bit of what they have rather then trying to redistribute it all - my preference.

Where did I complain about saving money?

I have a problem with people who save poorly, are saved by a bail out - then complain about taxes.

Well the way you made it look you thought everybody that complained about taxes were, a) bailed out by TARP, or b) only those bailed out by TARP were complaining about taxes. Neither of which is true. And by the way I noticed that you only complained about the TATRP bail out, and said nothing about all the bail outs that the Messiah has push thru since. But I guess those tax dollars went to worthy recipients.

So anything I dont mention I am by default promoting?
Now you are arguing like Bowcephelous does.
