My wonderful wife was actual listening to me. We were at Target when I spotted a throw rug that was made of bamboo. Frist thing out of my mouth was to declare how I could make a cool quiver out of the rug. She agreed( rolling her eyes) and said it was way to over priced. Well yesterday after she came home from shopping she handed me the rug and said she had got it on clerance for $ 9.00 , which was a third of what they wanted a week ago. So after a few hours playing around here it is.

danbow,

I have been looking at some cheap bamboo rugs at our local OddLots but the are usually too wide and would have to cut them down to make a quiver. Looks like you came up with the right solution and size. What did you use for the bottom?

Very Nice!

I used an 1/8 th thick piece of ash I had laying around for riser accent stripes. Covered the bottom with Ostrich leather then glued it in and shot a few small staples ,from my air nailer to secure it . I lost a little depth doing that why but it seems to work pretty good.
thanks

How heavy would that be anyhow? and how do you hold the rounded shape???or DO you!! :sbrug: :)

haven't weigh it but it doesn't seem any heavier then my leather back quivers, the rug itself is very light in weight. The round shape is held by the quiver itself, where you see the wood arrowheads is extra thick material already made in the rug so I didn't need to support it to keep it from going flat.
Thanks

Nice work! :bow2: I would imagine the bamboo wouldn't be as hot on your back as leather ?
