Should add in what every developed country actually is, managed capitalism with social programs. Not binary here.

No such thing as black and white.....not a good question for a poll. Capitalism will definitely get the most votes, but our system is built on a capatilistic approach with socialistic applications built in. A better question might be .... The American model or the French/UK model???

.....The Cult of the Seekers of the Definition of "Is".....Still trying to change the premise of questions too difficult to answer.
I would not look to one who struggles with "black and white" to define "American".
LMAO.

So much for the Secret Ballot Damned Commie:)
Nah, I voted Socialist to get a rise out of the Chicken Littles.
Since the Republicants are using Socialist as the new term for anyone that doesn't agree with them 100%.

Liberty to the people or power to the state. The two are inversely proportional. What the state takes the people surrender. Voluntarily or by force. What we are dealing with now is accelerated incrementalism. A subtle and devious co-option of personal Liberty by the state.
I am opposed to this philosophy of the individuals' loss of sovereignty to the state in the name of enforced social engineering. It corrupts the very things it claims to expand, charity and civility, by making personal responsibility obsolete.

No statist can rightly claim he is set against the abuses of big business, for the state is the biggest, most abusive business of all.

Well at least in that business, those affected have a say in who runs the thing.

The US hasn't been capitalist since we passed the income tax amendment (16, I think). Give politicians the power to take and redistribute wealth and they will. They can't help themselves. it's like putting someone with food issues in an all-you-can-eat buffet.
That said, Obama has moved this country closer to socialism in three months than we've gone in fifty years. The CEO of GM took the money and shrugged.
I'd bet cash money Obama never read 'Atlas Shrugged.'

Poll is NOT about what America is or isn't, it's merely asking which system do you prefer?

Okay, I prefer pure, laissez-faire capitalism, NOT the mixed-up, watered down version we call capitalism today.

I want to thank all who participated in the poll as well as those who didn't. My intent was to discern who was who or which was which, to my own satisfaction. By your response and non-response, I have accomplished my goal. Thanks again! :luck:
