Hammer Mod on my old reliable car gun. My 10-22 homemade "Secret Squirell special" and the old 37 Win in the top was my first gun at nine.

OK, sorry here's my Hammer Modifacation. Few knives I'm making, two with 01 and another out of a saw blade.

Good Guns, Samuel!

I see part of a cantilever mount there, in front of the buis. Do you have a Aimpoint on it.... and what did the hammer mod do for it?
Have you done a mod to the other side of that hammer where the reset engagement is?

Yep Aimpoint, and yes I tigged a threaded bl to the right side of the trigger to regulate sear engagement. The hammer mod reduces the weight and inertia of the hammer. Speeds up hammer fall for a little quiker re-set.

Faster than a Geiselle? Cheaper for sure, I bet. Looks like you did a very nice job.

It speeds up lock time a little. The time between sear disengagement and hammer hitting the primer. Belt sander and gentle touch.

Looks like all you need now, Sam, is a "rocknroll" setting on that selector.

I have had them Dave. I carried a Ruger AC-556 for years, and had a full size M-16 for a while. Naaaa, I really like full auto tearing things up, up close, but the semi auto is all I really need. All the full auto stuff was Dept. issue. I do really like the 14 in. 870 though. Up close with #1 Buck it will blow a killer dog's head-off, I mean off, MESSY+ I love dogs, and these memories haunt me more than than the people I have shot.:)

Yep, pretty hard to beat an open-bore 12 ga with buckshot for close-up stuff. So many folks buy a semi-auto handgun for home defense when they would be served so much better by a shotgun. Shotguns don't have much sex appeal, but that "clack-clack" sound a pump makes and looking down that big bore are real attention getters.

Yes Dave, the "Gauge" is a insant 9X32 cal with 00 buck! Bad machine + Ucanbe= Tired, cold, wet, shaking and nervous, and still hit! My pick everytime for Dynamic entry and in the house. Turkey loads up close, say#5's copper plated? Man, Big Medicine in the facial area. I worked a suicide with 12 gauge frontal skull to rear at point blank, and found brain matter 28 feet away. I like em alot, That is the 12 gauge pump. My Old 870 is a welcome companion. If Simon Peter would have had it instead of a sword! Kablooie======<<<<<<splat??????????:)

I can't do the "clack, clack" thing with mine (Benelli M1, Super 90), but it's right comforting knowing it's there behind the headboard. I've been very impressed with the results of a magazine full of #1 buck from it.

CJ, The very best is in your hands with the super 90! LAPD Swat has used them for years. Lucky dog:)

Sam............it has been a good one. I picked it up used (ex PD gun) in excellent shape. It was probably just hauled around in a car most of the time and only shot during qualification.
