My wife and I went to her 30 graduation reuion this weekend and had a great time away from the kids. A fried of our who is a believer told me of one of my old friends from elementery school and I know him today still, him and his wife just gave their lives to the Lord at my church last weekend. He was one of the big drug dealers in town for years but a likeable guy none the less.

That catch on fire for the lord and their is no looking back. The best evidence of a changed life is a changed life.

God is at work. Sometimes it seems subtle, and maybe not on our time table, but His work is, and will be done. Great report.

DaveHawk,
Your praise regarding the elementary friend who was saved is fantastic. It reminds me of a song, Hello Mama, written by my favorite songwriter and singer, Squire Parsons. Squire grew up in the mountains of WV.
While growing up he had a friend in elementary school, Paul. But as they got into Jr. high and high school they grew apart. Paul became a drug abuser and an alcoholic. Squire was saved at an early age and had already started his music ministry in the church his father, Squire Sr., pastored.
Paul would come in every night, actually morning, anywhere from 2:00 am to 6:00 am totally stoned and/or drunk. As he walked down the hallway in his home to go to his bedroom he would hear the same thing every morning as he walked past his mother's door. He would hear her praying and pleading to God to bring Paul safely home and that the Lord might find the grace to bring Paul to Him as personal Saviour.
Paul rode a Harley Davidson motorcyle and had always wanted to be a Hells Angel. He decided if he was going to be one he was going all the way and travel to LA, the home of the Hells Angels, and join the REAL group. So, he left WV when he was 25 and took to the highways and headed for LA.
One evening as he was riding a mountain road through CO, the mountains reminded him of home. And then the prayers his Mother had faithfully prayed every morning started ringing in his ears. He couldn't get them out of his mind. Then he suddenly came under great conviction as the Holy Spirit touched his heart. Tears started streaming down his face and it got to the point he couldn't see to safely drive his motorcycle.
Paul pulled his motorcycle over to the side of the road in an area he could safely park it. But rather than park it, he laid it down on its side. He then used it as an altar where he prayed, repented of his sins and asked Jesus Christ to come into his heart and life as personal Saviour. Paul then got up, lifted his motorcycle, drove to the nearest phone booth and called home and when his Mother answered he said:
Hello Mama
Hello Mama, I just called to tell you something happened, I'm not the same
I thought that you should be the first to know
Tonight I was travelling down a dusty road and all those prayers you prayed so long,
Mama, they just kept ringing in my ears,
Everythings going to be alright, you can sleep tonight,
I'm not the boy I used to be,
All those dreary days are over now, the sleepless nights are past
All those prayers you prayed so long, they're answered now at last,
Jesus has saved my soul, now everything's going to be alright
Bill
