I have a problem somewhat similar to Piney's sight problem on his BW target bow. My problem though is that the present sight, an old Arten sight, is glued onto the riser. There does not appear to be AMO screw holes in either the riser or the mounting bracket for the sight. So, I guess their only means of mounting was to glue it.
The riser on this bow is absolutely beautiful and a 9.8 on a 10 scale, except for two locations, the glued on sight mount and the glued on rest. There is glue all over the place in the vicinity of the mount and of the rest. In fact, it looks like they spread it across the entire width of the riser then mounted the rest and the mount for the sight.
I would like to replace both the rest, I have a new Win & Win I bought off TradMall, and I would like to upgrade the sight to a more modern and somewhat easier to adjust sight than the one that is presently on the bow. Any suggestions on how to remove the rest and sight without damaging the wood? Any recommendations for a sight? I plan on having AMO inserts installed for the sight.
