Well I finally got around to building my own formaster.Actually my wife did most of it LOL
First shot was very wierd.I shot all my arrows out of it today on lunch getting quite the chuckle out of my coworkers, one of the bowhunts.
I LIKE IT !! Thanks guys I wish I woulda done this a month ago it really tells ya when you did it right.
Special thanks to RayJ for bringing it up in the first place and to the guys that posted pics of their homemade versions.
Speaking of pics maybe you guys can post that again incase somebodys lurking with interest. :thankyou:

I just looked thru some of the archives and can,t seem to find a link to show any pics.Anybody else :sbrug:
There should be some pics under Limbwalkers post in the old Trad Talk forum.Type in formaster not formmaster. The formaster is a great tool.I need to use mine more.Everytime I use it,I shoot better afterwards. It really helps in training to keep that back tension.

I looked and could not find it. I can try and take a picture of mine that I made from John's instruction. Mine is functional if not pretty. I think I may make a new one with some "design" tweaks.
Coincendetly, where has Limbwalker been? I see hime posting over on AT from time to time. He hasn't forsaken us has he?

I,d post a pic of the one I made but I lack that ability at this time.I don,t think the search function works over there anymore.I couldn,t find it useing formaster or your handle Ray.I,ll look some more it was very easy to make for those that have access to a sewing machine and don,t wanna spend the cash.

Found one,it,s a pic of the one you can buy
Would somebody who uses or has used one tell me in simple terms what it does for you? What is its purpose? And what did you learn from using it?
Thank you

I just started so may not be the best but this is wht I,ve found so far.
In a nut shell it tells ya if your maintaining proper back tension thru the release. If you collapse the formaster will pull your elbow around and if you do it right your elbow and drawing arm stay in position where there supposed to be.
There was a thread a while back in the old tradtalk and many of the top guys have used this devise for training. I used a pc of old seat belt and some nylon cord I had layin around to make one, they sell for around 30-40 bucks I think.
Hopefully some of the guys with more experiance than I will jump in with pics and advise
Cato, like Swampy said,it helps with training yourself to maintain back tension throughout the shot.If you collapse at release, the bowstring will pull your arm forward. You shoot from whatever distance you usually do with an arrow on the string. The arrow usually only travels a few feet.I think that it could also be of great benefit for those suffering from TP.
