This all sounds well and good, but I have a VERY LIMITED Income at this point in time, and was curious as to what kind of Fundage does it take to get a Bow "Warf-Arized"? I have an Older PSE Mach 8 Riser that is Very Comfortable for me to shoot, and was Curious as to what it might cost.
I have a "Frozen" Left Wrist, from a Motorcycle Boo-Boo about 18 Years ago, and this Riser and Grip fit the Situation I have very well. I have seen some of these Warf Bows and am Impressed by what I see!
'Nother Quick Question while I am typing, what are the "Opinions" on the Best Limbs for a Meager Budget? Thanks in Advance y'all!!! :shooting:

You might wanna talk to Warf himself(Bob Gordon or Hank on this site abot "Quinn" Limbs...something new they been trying on warf risers...initial responses seem positive. I may go with these myself.... :)

No worries. From what I remeber the limb pockets are pretty simialr to my Mach 6. What if I told you we could whip something up that would let you go from compound to recurve and back. Kinda like a two for one combo thing? How would that grab you?

TB4U: is this possible with the Black Bear risers too? I'll most likely go with Quinn limbs.

Sure,
But the nice thing bout the Mach 8 is that it is actually faster as a compound.
The Black Bear, or Black lightning were not very impressive as compounds. and the recurve is usually, dependng on draw length, as fast if not a little faster than the compound.
Also the Mach 8 has pivoting limb pockets. Big deal you say? Well, that little tidbit right there will let you pretty much set the angle of the limbs wherever you need it. Makes for a hell of a fast set up usually.
Did a very similar conversion on my pet Hoyt Protec. Ended up with a darn nice bow.

Sorry Mike, I have actually changed my mind about the Mach 8, I would like to save it for my Long-Armed Son, when he is ready for it that is. I do have an Older Darton and an Alpine that I wondered about getting "Warfed", anybody had any Luck with those?

So who's going to be doing the Quarf conversions? I know there are some guys that may not have the tools or don't want to take a chance of messing-up a set of Quinn limbs. Would be nice if someone was willing to take this on and put together a standardized, consistent conversion job. Sounds like there's a bit of interest in this...

IMO, from the description that Bob provided (below) on the "qwarf pictures thread" it sounds like anyone with average tinkering skills should be able to make the conversion, and it shouldn't require any expensive equipment. - John
"Piney...It's about as close to a direct bolt on as it gets. All I had to do was shorten the rear of the limb about 3/16ths so the bolt hole in the limb would match up with the riser bolt hole, remove the limb pin, take a real CAREFUL measurement for the pin hole to go in the riser, drill it, put the pin back in the limb and and bolt the limbs on. And the job is done. Took all of a half hour to do it. On the Bear riser it's close to a perfect fit in the limb pocket with about 1/8" of clearance all around the limb. The limb also can be shimmed a little to change the weight a couple pounds.. Tiller came out perfect with no adjustments needed."

I have an old PSE Laser Mag I was thinking of doing. Would the Quinn limbs fit this riser. Don't remember the limb width as the bow is at home. I e-mailed PSE to see if any limbs from their current line of takedowns would fit but haven't heard back. I talked with Jeffery about a set of limbs for my Hoyt ProVantage riser, but the guy I talked with didn't seem to be up to speed. He was too busy trying to sell me a new PSE Impala.

The Quinn limbs are 1-5/8" wide at the base and taper to 1" right before the tip reinforcements... if that helps ya any. :)
