On another hunting site I'm on we have a verse of the day. It help's thoses who don't have the time to read in the mornings. Would you all like to start posting one ?

Sounds good. How does it work? Who puts up the scripture? Do each of us just add to it as led, or what?

Usualy the poster prays about the post. Most of the time as we do it on HuntAmerica the verse is one Lead by the Holy Spirit given to the poster in his or her daily devotions in the morning.
Chris AKA Deerslayer has been posting for the last 2 years over there and I did for a few years befor that.
We can do weekly of monthly posting; If someone wants to step up who feels lead to post. If you'd like I can start the 1st week to see how everyone likes it.

Are you talking about a verse - standing alone, or a verse, together with a commentary on why it was meaningful to the poster? I like the second idea better, I think.

I also like the idea of being able to add to the post as you feel led. In this way various people may share on any given day and those verses may serve as an encouragement to an even greater variety of visitors.
It also keeps the thread dynamic and airs more of God's Word. Adding to the post may consist of comments or scripture or both. It makes it sort of a conversation, which I like. A conversation about scripture, for the purpose of edification and encouragement, yes?

Posting of a verse or multiable verse's together in a chapter can set the tome for the day. Others giving their insite to what it means to them sparks an awareness in others that may not have see the verse in the same light. How many times have you read one verse and say on the 5th time you get an eye opening insite to the meaning through the Holy Spirit? I know I have had this happen.
I like the KJV but I read the NIV these days.

I'll go ahead and start it for the 1st week. Durring your devotionals I know verses will begin to strike you as a good verse of the day. Jot it down and whoever was the poster for the day PM him and let him or her know you want to post the verse for the next day. Keeps the confussion down.

BTW Stagmitis says hi from Fla. You may want to keep him and his family in your prayers if that storm in the gulf turns towards the Fla pan handle.
