I put this bow together a while back and really liked it so I decided if it was going to be a keeper I wanted to do a camo job proper. I considered a film dip, but after seeing Dave’s camo and reading about it from the supplier’s sight I decided to go that route. It only took Dave about two weeks and man does it look good. Attached are pictures of it as taken out of the box (very well packaged) and as a completed bow.
Details; Late model Hoyt Spectra riser “warfed” by Bob with the stealth stabilizer and ebay special 50# G3 limbs. I set it up with a rubber slip on grip (old inner tube) a doinker chubby hunter stabilizer, sling, mountain muffler string and the venerable NAP plungerest. It scaled out at 55# @ 28” on my scale. I did all the tricks I know in terms of noise reduction and it works it’s pretty quiet for a quick bow with light arrows. Oh yeah the arrows. They are 29” Carbon Express Maxima 250’s weighing 375gr.
I draw it 28 ½” and the three shots through the chronograph were 311, 310 and 311. Must have had a sloppy release on that 2nd shot. :p
The grip on the Hoyt has a great contour. I don’t really like that it is all metal, thus the reason for the rubber slip over but other than that it has a great “feel”.
