I need limbs made for an old Bear 76'er riser. The originals are solid FB and are severely twisted. The riser is 17 1/2" center cut with a sight rail.

The riser has a good feel to it. I'd like to make a 30# bow for my wife and 35# or so for me for a training bow. I am pretty handy, and have thought of making my own limbs, either RC or LB.

What woods? are there any limb kits?

Help please!

Thanks Bill

I'd bet it would be cheaper to buy another (or two) 76er or a Minuteman off ebay.

But check at Binghams, they have plans and sell materials for bow building. Of course to fit the 76er pocket you'll have to "make" it work.

Take a look at the Quinn limbs. They may work.

Limb width is not a problem with fit. the biggest problem is the last 3/4" of limb end( where the slot is). Standard limb thickness is about 1/16 too thick. Can the limb end thickness be saftely reduced? Can I sand down and then reseal the laminations?

Thanks, Bill
