I am looking for the purchase of a few feet of target nets. How reliable are they? Do they last broadhead use? What is the best product.?

I would use them as backup to catch some fliers and when using a moving target to keep the arrows. What is the maximum speed allowed for arrows?

Many thanks.

You may not be talking about the same type of netting. However, I've used one from Hall's archery in our 4H shooting sports program. The one we use will stop arrows from 25 lb bows with typical aluminum, plastic or wood. But, a girl using skinny carbons with a 20# bow shot through them. It definitely will not stop a broadhead. And, I wouldn't rely on it for even bows in the high 30X range with alum, wood or plastic arrows.

I'm not sure what type of netting you're referring to either, Torsten. If you can, point us in the right direction where you have seen this netting.

When we have the Kids Kamp every summer, we use a heavy duty, black landscape netting draped about 20 yards away from shooting line. The kids are using 15-20 lb. bows and none of the wood arrows penetrate. Same here Dan... anything much heavier than 25 lbs. with what we're using would not stop a field point.

We use the netting on our range, and it stops the arrows, but I wouldn't shoot a broadhead at it. the broadhead would cut right through it.

Many thanks to all of you,

I think we speak about the same nets. At Cabelas (target section ?) you get them.
Most likely there will be no help for my 65# bow and broadhead. Blunts might work but they fly different.

Someone told me this: a friend of him is a police man and told there would be no issue on arrows danger, he uses bullet proof waists. Furtunately he took it off before the trial. The arrow went straight through.

I will forget nets then.
