Hopefully nobody is angry at me now: I found the post in archery links but do not recall where.
1) Bow hunting
OK, I have in my bowhunting pack: hunting license, maps, a adjustable small cord like zip ties for birds, small binoculars, zip ties for everything, matces, pieces of birch bark to start fire, red waist if we are hunting in a group, a few broadheads as spare, red silk strings to follow-up, mobile phone (normally switched off), moskito depressants, rain hat and strong belts to pull quarry.
Most important: PEANUTS!!!
2) Rifle hunting: the main difference are ear protectors, ammonition, ear plugs, big binoculars, more and fresh PEANUTS!!!!!!!!

Torsten, what are all the peanuts for? Do you drop one every so often so you can find your way back? :) Can peanuts be grown in Finland?

Acorns....prefferbly white oak, cracked corn, alfalpha, clover, a few mineral licks and a sign that says.....FREE WEEKEND BUFFET HERE. I also have a sexy doe decoy as the hostess/greeter.

Peanuts do really grow well in Finland. You should do some fundamental research on this item; they can be harvested even saltet and fully packed...
I love them when waiting for longer times dug in snow. (Will love them even this night, moon is coming up and we have heavy north-eastern winds).
Hunting elephants?????
Hmmmm......might try that.
You know the old elephant jokes, they can hide anywhere.

I use a vest. Depending on how long the outing and how far the tramp determines what I carry. But I always have a couple plastic shopping bags to throw small game in, a ziplock with wet wipes for cleaning my hands, leatherman multi tool, pocket knife, strike anywhere matches in a match case, space blanket { getting lost is a fact of life for me }, game calls, TP, 1 or 2 bottles of water, 3 or 4 snacks { usually granola and beef jerky }, small medical kit { leftover paranoia from my military days }, gloves, stocking cap, sometimes a face camo kit. Alot of my hunting forays end up being explorations of new area, mushroom, berry, sap collecting expeditions! I mainly hunt small game and stump shoot. If after deer, I'm in a stand { if the joints allowed me to hang the thing }. Finding a decent vest has made the whole hunting process much eaiser. I have two vests, one setup for bowhunting, and one for shotgun. I can go at a moments notice { important feature if you have a wife and kids!} I think that covers it, time of year determines alot also. I'm sure I'll think of more, can't get to the vests right now, I'll wake everyone up.

Lets see... I have my Browning FDT knife, lighter, small pen lite to lite up my reflective thumb tacks, tree umbrella (this has become a very useful item, rain, wind or use it as a small ground blind)chemical hand warmers,2 or 3 granola bars, bottle of water, varmint call, pencil and small note book, extra pair of gloves, plastic bag, small compass. In late OCT thru NOV it would also have a couple of sandwichs (I do not leave for lunch!)These are the items that I could not do without. Sean .P.S. No peanuts though ,high in energy but I think here in Ohio the peanut breath would give these bucks too much of an advantage.
