I am not sure how many of you guys get them but they can be benificial to those who are ceceptable to the flu. Diabetics and those with heart conditions have been determined that they should take the shot, by the medical profession anyway.
I read recently that within the ingredence mercury and aluminum are being used. As both of these are linked to alzheimers and the body can not dispell these toxins, why would they use them in the first place.
I got rid of aluminum and teflon coated pans years ago. I also try not to use shampoo or underarm deoderant with aluminum in them.
It is funny how we try to avoid certian products and then the medical/pharmasuticla profession finds another way to poison us with it ?????????????????
I have gotten the shot for several years but plan to go get the MSDS sheet from where I got my last shot. It should have all of the information I need.
Several people have different reactions from the flu shot, such as an injection site reaction or for some they even get sick for a few days. I don't thiink it is always a reaction from eggs now that I am finding out some of the other ingredence used.
It is funny how they will put this stuff to use until the public takes a stand. I did find an ad on the net that said they had a flu vaccine that was mercury free, so there has to be some truth to this.

I don't take the flu shot any more, simply because I've gotten flu-like symptoms with and without out some years, and have had years without symptoms, both with and without the shot. It's a guesstimate as best.
I do use teflon pans and shoot aluminum arrows.
I think the articles you're reading have more to do with some people having too much time on their hands than medically bonefide side effects. Considering that the prime target for flu shots are the elderly, if there was a risk, we'd have seen more statistical evidence by now.
Also, in a former life, I've had a bit of medical/med-research training, and one thing I learned early on is that most studies are only conclusive until the next one is published.
Sometimes, common sense has to win out over the lastest test results ...:fencing:

Viper,
They have expanded the suggested use past the edlerly several years ago. I'm not in a panic mode or anything but when they shut down a whole school for a small mercury spill that is what I call a panic mode.
Oh and before the next paper comes out it is usually based on how many have been affected since the last stupid paper they put out.
OOPS! we were wrong again.:brickwall:
Sorry, I don't like being a statistic.
I will be getting an MSDS sheet from work where I got my shot this year.

Here's the best advise I can give people, unless you have any real medical training (a little more than what you read on the net or hear on the 6:00 news), find a Doc or medical professional you trust and work with them.
As far as flu shots being toxic because of the Mercury or Aluminum, just remember most Rx (and OTC) drugs are toxic if given in sufficient doses.
People make mistakes all the time, docs too, but the more you know (not think you know) the less you don't know ... :luck:
If the possibility of flu shot toxicity bothers you that much, just don't take it, it's still a crap shoot.

Welp, that explains it, but a word of advice, don't chew on your aluminum arrows.
Beleive it or not I do a lot of research on my own. Also involved in the environmental field at work. I just recently found out about some of possible substances used in the flu shots. Telling people of these findings may not infuence their decision but may help them in determining them.

Don, a co-worker of mine that had been given a flu shot just about died from it. He stayed in the hospital for about 5 months.
I've never taken one, and when i heard about him going thru what he did after getting it, i haven't wanted one. It probably won't effect me but i'm not going to chance it.
I've done my own research also, and i don't know who's worse. - The pharmaceutical companies, or the US food & drug admin. Looks like they're both out to kill us all. I am also convincd that the doctors are run by the big pharma companies.
If folks want to keep on believing their lies, it's up to them, but i'm not buying it.

I did a little research on the subject this evening at work.
I talked with someone at the CDC (Center of Disease Control)
He gave me the link to the Guide to Contraindications to Vaccination PDF file, I would have never found it if it were not for the link he gave me.
I haven't been able to identify everything in the vaccine as of yet but here is the ingredients. There are basically 2 types plus the new Flue mist.
Influenza (Fluevirin) Beta-propiolactone, egg protine,Neomycin, Polymyxin B
Polyoxethylene 9-10 nonyl phenol (triton N-101 octoxynol 9) Sodium chloride, Thimerosal
Influenza (Fluezone) Egg protien, Formaldehyde or formalin, Gelitin
Polyethylene glycol, p-isooctylphenyl ether
(Triton X-100), Sodium Chloride, Thimerosal
Influenza (Fluemist) phosphates
Inflenza (varies) Bactopeptons
Thimerosal also known as Merthiolate sodium
Ethylemercurithiosalicylic acid, sodium salt is the nasty stuff.
Per the MSDS sheet is is used as a: Pharmaceutical aid (perservative)
bactericide, fungicide

The US Air Force gave my Squadron the Flu Mist this year. For the first time I did not get sick from the vaccination.

That's good research, Don. Thanks for showing it.
Good to hear you didn't get sick from it this time, 42WLA
Is this mist something you just snort up your nose.

I also got the paper that comes with a vial of vaccine from work. Depending on how it is packaged determins whether there is the perservative in it or not.
If the administrator orders the shots in a single syringe application it does not contain the perservative Thimerosal. But, if ordered in the multiple dose vial then it will contain the perservative.
Also more than likely the last fish dinner you had would have more residual mercury in it than the vaccine.
There sure is a wealth of info out there if one takes the time to dig it up.

Exactly. The medics came out to our unit and used small syringe looking dispenser to spritz the mist in each nostril. Simple quick painless.
