Hi guys,

An ex IBO shooter/competitor gave me a 11.5" D2 doinker to try on my recurve. Happily surprised at how much i like this D2 and the difference it made on the recoil on My SA, i started poking around the web looking at different stabilizers.

Wow talk about alot of products lol. The Vibracheck isolater carbon looks appealing to try also. Its gel filled compared to the D2s {i dont know whats in there lol}. Anyone tried both these or the isolator? I love the mass this has put into my riser. I tried a short heavy stabilizer but didnt like the balance, would prefer the wieght out more like the D2. So what do you say< any onters youve tried and liked? :help:

It's hard to go wrong with Vibracheck or Doinker and I like the carbon rod stabilizers better than anything else so far, but not for hunting; too easy to get twigs or branches hung in between the rods, in my opinion. But that's just an educated guess. I use a 4" Vibracheck for hunting and a 12" superstix for targets.if I use a stabilizer at all - that's the quickest way to catch a bunch of flak at a 3-D shoot.

I was playing with a 10" stabilizer with a squishy rubber knob on the end (looks like it should have come from Lovely Lil's Adult Toy Emporium---paint it pink and really rock their boats at a shoot) on one of the Warfers yesterday. It kind of felt wierd. After the shot it was like it was vibrating out there. Is that the normal. I never noticed any after shot vibration like that before

Today I was shooting the old PM TD hunter and found that the threaded accessory holes are too small for todays stabilizer. I'll need to find some of the older solid metal ones or find an adapter with the smaller bolt size

DWS i know what vibration your talking about, The D2 is the one that does not do that, When i shoot my SA it calms the bow jump and i cant feel any of that vibration, the 2 other 11.5" rods i tired had that same thing your talking about. I like em heavy, i figure my arrow sticks out farhter then this bar so if i can draw my bow there shouldnt be anything in the way considering the arrow was just hangin out there :sbrug:

i think i might pick up one of the vinrachecks the 9.5"r is 13 ounces, sounds good. As far as catchin flack at a shoot i could care less what somone thinks about what im shootin. Not to many trad guys around here any how, wheelies out number recurves and long bows probably 10:1.
I guess they probably wont like my sightpins and wrist sling either. Boy if i put a hindsight on this thing that really ought to get em going, they might just go home mad lol.

Stabilizers on traditional bows......thats blasphemy! What's next? Metal riser bows with taps for sights and stabilizers......who would buy something like that? Not me! .....NEVER! :) :) :)

I was shooting the Warfer today indoor 300. Screwed-in a 12" Vibracheck my buddy had laying around the shop. It didn't do much for additional shock vibration dampening (isn't much there to begin with), but I did notice an even higher level of "balance" going on. Seems like a good addition for target shooting at least.

LOL, Stick'em... wasn't all that long ago that I was SERIOUS about what you said. Nowadays, I'm gonna keep using my wrist sling and aperture sight. Guess I'm not "traditional" anymore.... :(

But I sure do enjoy burning a hole... errrr, I mean punching the paper out of the 5-spot in good fashion.

Hey.....I love my Gamemaster and would not give it up. I have not tried sights on it yet......mainly because I am trying to learn instinctive. Heck, I have gotten so good I can almost hit the target! LOL!

I've been very happy with the Stealth stabilizer. I started with the 3-D model. But since I shoot for recreational amnd hunting only, I sold it & bought a 6" model. Both work very well.
