first of all, thanks for all the help given to me so far. i have been shoooting bare bow with a longbow for about 5 months now and before that, several years with a compound. all i know is hunting. all these target shoots are a bit confusing. my question is i am maybe going to join a indoor spots leage and was wondering what you folks use as you aiming method. i am trying to learn gap shooting and am making some small progress. just wondering what your personal shooting styles are for barebow indoors spots. thanks for any info!!

A lot depends on why you're there. If you are doing it to hone YOUR skills shoot it the same way as you normally shoot. If you want to be competitve, then a more formal "aiming" method is in order.

I very strongly suggest you NOT listen to anyone who says they had the "best" aiming system or says you have to do it a certain way. Shooting a stickbow is an evolutionary process. Things happen at certain points in your shooting career for a reason. If you try to force it, whether it works or not, you ain't gonna like it.

Viper out.

Viper-

What would you suggest equipment wise to become more competitive?
Is there a book that aids in the decision process?
I have only been shooting 9 months, would like to improve on my 259 today. Vegas 3 spot, indoors.

What class are you shooting? If you are shooting a 259 barebow recurve or longbow on Vegas 3-spot you are already competitive, 9 months or not! What equipment are you trying to improve?
