Has anyone tried aluminum for an adapter plate instead of steel? I think it would hold up. How much force is actually being put on the dovetail groove? To me it doesn't seem like all that much.

Am I over looking something? Bob, any ideas?

I made a set last night (haven't shot it yet though) it was definately a lot easier than grinding on steel.

Thanks

Aluminum adapter plate will work fine on most risers. You have to be careful that if you crank the limbs all the way down that the back bottom of the ILF fitting doesn't bottom out in the ILF slot or it can and will bend the front of the adapter plate up off the riser floor, the plate is fairly wide but where the 3/8ths slot is cut there isn't all that much metal there and it can bend up...warf

Thanks for the reply Bob! That makes a lot of sense, I'll keep my eye out for that.
