I have always wanted to build my own bow but don't want to invest in laminating forms, ovens, etc. After reading many threads on warf bows I think I'm going to try and build one.

I'm thinking about purchasing some Med. Winstorm Carbon Limbs 44# and using a 17" riser to make a 60" bow. I have a 26-27" draw length and would like the finished bow to draw 45-50# at this length. Are my calculation correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Arrow,
IMHO you should need lighter limbs.
My WoodenWarf used 36# KAP glass limbs to get 46#.
It depends on limb pocket angle and deflex of the riser.
Hope this helps.
Martin

PS: do a search on "warf" or "wooden warf".

Thanks for the info. I havn't built my riser yet but my current design has 15 deg. angle on the pockets and 1" deflex measured from the throat of the grip to where the limbs contact the riser. How does that compare to your riser?
Knowing that do you think 40# limbs would be about right.
