Is there a difference in the limbsavers between compound and recurve? Also does anyone have the part number for the recurve limbsavers everyone is talking about?????

How about a web page url?

Thanks,
Lane

Lane,
Most of the compounds use the split limb models, but the recurve models are called "solid limbsavers". They come in both the standard round version and the "ultra" version, camo and black. They also make a mini limbsaver that is meant for accessories like quivers. I like the ultras and put them on the belly of the limb just above the fadeouts. It has little effect on speed placed there but is still effective. I don't have part numbers but Lancaster carries them. www.lancasterarchery.com

there are 3 or 4 varieties in the Simms Limbsaver line. There are also a couple of other mfgs but I think we tend to use "limbsaver" in a generic way . In addition to screw-in/bolt-on models for compounds and their accessories there are three sizes of stick-ons, a large one used on solid limb compounds, a medium sized one marketed specifically for recurves and youth bows, and the little tiny ones used on accessories. They are also availible in both black and some sort of camo pattren--at higher cost, at least around here.

The www.limbsaver.com site has all sortsw of interesting things----even a vibration dampner for the end of pool and billiard cues :sbrug:

I've used the amall accesory ones on longbow limbs. About the perfect size. I may also try to use some in the near future as a brush button/string dampner.
